Reading the posts since my last one, I could weep for all of you; life is just so unfair at times!
Fwiw, it took moving to Concrete Cow Country to get my lupus diagnosis.
Re adding on meds - GP has just decided to try me with gabapentin, on top of all the other stuff I take. Only thing is, it's in liquid form, and has to be the worst thing I've tasted since I escaped my mother's cooking _pale_(cabbage reduced to yellow slime, anyone?). Thank goodness for P0l0 mints!
Pollyanna I hope your poor DD is having a better time; I know only too well how a bad flare physically can have a knock-on effect on dodgy mental health!
Anyways, I've blagged Mr LW into cooking tonight's dins, as the wet weather has taken its toll on me of late; so we're having fried eggs on toast, and use up some of the salad veg we have in the fridge.:o And there's still some of the blackberry'n'apple crumble I made the other day to have for pud, so all I'll need to do is make a bit of custard - I reckon I can manage that.
Tomorrow will see us having two house-guests for an eleven-day stay; two lovely little Cocker Spaniels, Harvey and Charlie. They've stayed with us before; and I think they may just save my sanity!
It's a good job I re-read my posts before I hit the Submit button; the amount of typos I've just had to correct is ridiculous! My excuse - I washed my hands earlier and now I can't do a thing with 'em! :rotfl:
Wishing you all pain-free days and peaceful nights. xIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I just plod along!
I'm 31 married with 2 young children - life doesn't get to stop for me - I have people who rely on me it I also have an amazing family who support me and care for me when I need it.
I still manage to work (part time) and I try to be as OS as I can as I find we all eat healthier and the £££ saved goes towards our little holidays when we can get away.
It is really hard but I do buy a lot of easier foods, ring pull tins are great as my hands don't work - chopped or prepped veg is a huge help - some times on a good day I'll prep loads of veg and freeze otherwise DH can do it for me.
I do think its best to have a positive outlook on life, I'm massively grateful for what I have.

Oh my goodness - we both know how it feels to be weighed up by bookies LMAO. I can't believe they can't agree on something with such drastic meds/surgical solutions. That's awful.
Sadly, my neighbour had oncology (for cancer) and a gastro-enterital team arguing over his treatment last year - !!!!!! they could do with going up to the head-end-of-the-bed and listening to the patient once in a while.
I'm off to the balance clinic on Tuesday to let them have a go. I'll take the last lot of meds-that-had-no-effect with me and see if anyone has noticed the traumatic head injury in my records yet.
I'm falling over backwards on account of all the eye-rolling lol.
n.b. Please don't anyone think I don't appreciate the NHS coz I do!
Hi Slowly57,
Hope you did okay at the (off) balance clinic. xx0 -
I need to tell someone; you're all so nice and non-judgemental here, so you get to hear it. Feel free to skip this post.
I got an email yesterday; a very dear friend has passed away. Now, the bit I don't want to be harshly judged on is he had four legs and a waggy tail. Many people don't understand just how a dog can worm his/her way into one's heart, and Bailey did precisely that.
He stayed with me on several occasions, and I'm absolutely gutted. He was due to come and stay with me, with his partner-in-mischief in November. I knew he was poorly (big tumour on his neck) but I thought it was under control with his medication.
I feel so sad that I'll never see his lovely two-tone face again, or vacuum up the ton of fur he shed.
His friend Cassie will still be coming in November; I just hope she's going to be ok, because they were inseparable. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Bless you Lamewolf,
Very sorry for you..it's so sad.
I was heartbroken for years...and still get upset, thinking about my beloved dog. He really was my best friend. Dogs should live for years and years, it's really not fair.
Wishing you well xxx0 -

Can I offer a heartfelt hug? I can't often find the right words when someone is suffering but I have lost much loved dogs in the past and I would like to send a hug and kind thoughts. Empty0 -

I did! Thank you!
Mind you, I felt really rough the next day on account of one of the tests - but - if it gets to the bottom of things I don't care :T I'm walking like a comedy drunk at the moment without my stick - oh the glamour of it all :rotfl:2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!

LameWolf I'm so sorry to hear you had such sad news. Many people never have animal companions and so, truly don't realise how devastating it is when they get ill or pass on. Of course you must feel a huge sense of loss. I hope your happy memories of Bailey will bring you comfort once the rawness has passed. Kind thoughts and much love to you xx2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!
