Tink You're doing really well but don't knock yourself out . We don't want you overdoing things . You seem to have lots going on . The children must be loving the sunny days but I know they can be draining when ill .
A bit of a two edged sword really . Dd and I have umpteen flares as the weather switches back and forth . More damp and cold days or hot and humid ones , we need something in between but can't order that .
    Take care x

I don't know if you'll get to read this Wolfy before you set off at stupid o clock . I will be thinking of you until you come back .
I don't know where you cruise is but I hope you both see some lovely scenery and enjoy your time away .

I know you'll be anxious and stressed . Mute that parrot as much as you can . You've done these cruises before and always arrived back in Concrete Cow country safe and sound .
You survive meet and greets and the sky hasn't fallen . I know by my daughter how things can go to catastrophe mode in the head .
She most of the time can now mute or argue with that parrot . Still some meltdowns but far fewer now .

Use the worse words you can muster and tell it to sod off . You've scrimped and saved like a good moneysaver for this holiday so I hope you can come back after a good break .

Think off all the bookings lined up for your return . Bon Voyage I'm looking forward to your return . If you feel uncomfortable sing a song in your head to try to distract from the thoughts . Damh the Bard comes to mind . My dd still appreciates those words you kindly sent .

Wafts of Lavender and calming vibes to you .

    Still not doing great unfortunately.

On a more positive note I saw a friend the other day, hadn't seen him for awhile, he cheers me up -- makes me laugh and I find him interesting to talk to/be around (even though we have a lot of different views). Generally I haven't been feeling too sad though, I mean other than being fed up with how I feel.

Itisme I'm so sorry I've been missing from the thread recently . DDs physical health took a downward turn and both her liver and red blood cell results were at the warning stage meaning she would have to stop the Methotrexate .

Luckily our wonderful GP kept repeating the full bloods and modifying things and on Thursday she was cleared to stay on the MTX .

Re anxiety , it is something that should be diagnosed properly . As you say everyone has natural worry when it comes to illness and appointments . However anxiety is something that should be looked into . Is your GP good at listening ? You don't need a mental health professional to pick up on when an anxious state makes life much more difficult . Many people don't see how badly it can affect your day to day life and stop you sleeping before an appointment .

I see it in my daughter daily . She now has decent and caring people handling both her physical and mental health but apart from her doctor and counsellor they have to keep her trust at every appointment . So each time is what if ?

As you say ECGs and similar can be judged wrongly . The number of times she was told if she would calm down she would see there wasn't a medical issue . That was proved wrong every time .

I would talk to your GP and if they aren't helpful see if there is another doctor in the practice people seem to like . Our surgery has an online site with patient feedback Might be worth looking at yours . You could look at others in your area too .
A good doctor makes all the difference in being listened to and getting the care you need .

Is there anyone who could be with you for the ECG and bloods ? You have a right to have someone there . My dd has a lovely nurse and after years of me sitting in on her blood tests ( I have a needle phobia ) she's happy to leave me in the waiting room now .

I just took a breather Itisme . I'm having problems with my left shoulder and have needed to do a lot of typing in the last few weeks so have barely been on the forum . I think when things calm down with all the new appts I'll need an XRay and possibly barbotage as I suspect it's calcification .

When it comes to going to appts I'm not sure if you are able to drive or need to use public transport . If it's the latter it can make things much harder . It isn't possible for everyone but we use a taxi . I'm not wealthy , far from it but I've always lived well within budget and put a little aside for important things .

It would have been impossible from the point of view of dds mental and physical health to get her to appts on public transport .

With anxiety issues I understand you are tired and drained before you get there . I make sure everything needed is ready the day before whether it's paperwork , clothes and clean hair so it's get up and go .

As i said before if someone can go with you it helps pass the waiting time otherwise a book , magazine or something is a distraction whether you can follow what you're reading or not .

Try if possible to eat something before you go especially if you need to take meds . Pain , exhaustion and anxiety are difficult to control . My dd seldom sleeps if she has to be out the next morning as she worries she wont wake up in time and although it hasn't happened in all the years she can't shake that feeling

It's good to hear you met up with your friend one good friend who can cheer you up is precious . Being fed up with how you feel is natural when everyone seems to be getting on with life .

I can't remember if you work or not . If you don't are there any hobbies or things that interest you ? With anxiety it's hard to become involved with groups etc . Something good is to get out in the fresh air for a while if you have a park or similar nearby . I don't know if you have a garden but when I sit there for a while I lose my stress laughing at the birds and their antics .

I'm hoping Wolfy has enjoyed her holiday hopefully she'll be back here in a couple of days .

Not long until you and the family are away Tink . Let's hope the sun keeps shining .

Think you've had some sun over in the NE AOT and Prinzess hpoe it's eased the joints a little .

You seem to be making real progress Wednesday long may it continue .

To all posters and followers enjoy this weather while you can .

Caronc how's the garden coming along ? I'm afraid this will be a no home grown tomato year here unless I get a chance to pick up a few large pots of organic Tumblers to put in the tubs and cheat .

    Take care all

    Hi everyone!

We are back and have had a lovely break - it was only 5 days but manage a day at a theme park and the sealife centre too. The kids love the caran site but are getting a bit bored with some of the day time activities. We went swimming a lot tho as they love the pool!

I was really impressed as we didn't eat out at all - I did a shop before we went and had loads of snack stuff and took packed lunches when we went out. It saved us loads as especially the theme park prices for snacks!

The washer is on and we are having a chill out weekend. Been and got some shopping this morning as we had nothing in so a good stock up at Ald* and we are set! Hopefully if the weather stays mild we can get the BBQ out!

Hope everyone is ok - will have a read on what I've missed and see how everyone has been. I've got an eye infection again which is no good so think an easy weekend is a good idea :(

Well, we're home.... sorry I didn't get onto the thread straight away, but well, you all know you can only do so much in the time available.

We had a good time - though if we're honest, Mr LW enjoyed it more than I did; I found it all very tiring; but Dublin is a very interesting city, and we managed to visit something different each day.

Both our suitcases have died. Mr LW was all for buying new ones now, but I've persuaded him to wait and see if/when we want to go away again, and where to (if UK we may well manage with the myriad bags we have rather than actual suitcases).

I now have a smallish (Border Terrier sized) brown dog to stay for the weekend; he's been here once before, and is a sweet little chap. Name of Dusty.

Tink I thought it was this weekend you were going on holiday . Half term here is the week ahead . Glad you and the children enjoyed your time away . You need to put your feet up over the next few days before normal life begins again . I love bank holiday weekends as there aren't appointments then .

Sorry to read your eye is bothering you but hopefully your ears are now much better .

Good to see you back Wolfy , I live alongside the Irish Sea so I'd have organised a rapid response should woman overboard have occurred .

Dublin is a lovely place . I don't know if you managed to get to the scenic and sandy parts . My eldest daughter ran the Eire division of a very famous bookstore for a couple of years before coming back to the UK after living in Holland and many other parts of Europe doing the same . She was housed in a lovely house high over a sandy cove and beach with wonderful views and loved her time over there .

Enjoy your time with Dusty .

AOT I've been wondering if you feel any better now . I don't know if you're anywhere near Durham but I was wondering earlier if you would be able to see the hot air balloons from your verandah . There seems to be a lot going on around the NE at the moment .

How has it gone with the bathroom update ? It can be really tiring and stressful when workmen are around . I hope it's sorted and is easier to use now .

My shoulder is still bothering me but strong painkillers I grudgingly agreed to yesterday do seem to be taking the edge off the pain and the inflammation seems less today .

DD had another cortisone injection yesterday into her right wrist with one to go in the left wrist the week after next . She was fine for about 30 minutes and then got the full effect . We were heading to the pharmacy in town for the monthly meds and to do some much needed shopping when the heavens opened . She had sensible shoes on but daft me was wearing sandals so had a good soaking . Forecast had been possible spots of rain , that was an understatement .

Hope everyone is ok , I 'd be much better if it didn't keep getting sticky and humid . I'm just watching the trees starting to blow around so hopefully it will be a bit fresher tonight .

Polly - we went the week before as it was so expensive to go next week - plus the theme park was a lot quieter for DD.
It means we have a week off at home too! We all need a break!

DH is in the garden paining the fence and MIL and FIL are coming round later so I have a chicken in the oven. Hoping we can get the BBQ out later but we will see how the weather goes.

Washer is on again - glad I can get it outside and drying at least. Was poorly last night and have threw up - on the plus side my eyes seem better, can't win can I?

Glad you had a nice time LW although I know what you mean about it's so tiring

Hopefully the week at home will help recharge the batteries a little Tink . Sorry you're feeling sick , it's one of those can't win situations . Sometimes I think dd would have been better to opt for self injecting the MTX rather than oral every weekend as it's supposed to lessen the side effects .

Most weekends she'll be vomiting and living in the loo . She manages somehow to absorb it luckily but only rarely has a good weekend . I think when there are different conditions going on it's hard to not suffer the fallout from combinations of meds .

It's very hot here at the moment . We haven't had any thunder or lightening so the atmosphere is pretty oppressive . I hope you get to have your BBQ today . I keep wishing for cooler weather but know I'll be sorry when winter approaches , as you say we can't win .

There's a very strong wind here now with wall to wall sunshine . Perfect weather for drying the washing but I daren't risk hanging it out as the shoulder is just beginning to settle and I'm not sure whether the painkillers are numbing it or the inflammation is settling . I'm going to stop them after today and see .

Hope everyone's having a good break over this long weekend .

Ain't that just the truth, too! One of my meds is to counteract the side effects from one of the others.

    Poor health truly sucks!
