  • Glad you are ok Nelski

beemuzed All the best to your Mum - I hope she has as speedy a recovery as possible. I have never personally experienced the aftermath of a stroke, but I can imagine how difficult it is for all concerned so (((HUGS)))

Well, for the first time in almost a month...I have managed to put my ironing board and iron away!! :j
Done one load of washing, hanging out, can't do anymore as its all sheets, towels, sleeping bags etc, so anymore and the line will break! :) (That's my excuse anyway)
Just having a brew, then will get on with cleaning the bathoom.

    hello everyone

    Better late than never :D

Well, got up this morning at 6:45  , after agreeing to have a walk with hubby whilst he played golf :wall: ..... im sure we were getting back in the car beofre i was actually "awake":p ...Still, when we got there it was busy - as he was late!!!!! so he just played the 9 hole.... well at least thats an extra 1 1/4hr extra exercise :j ....can't stop yawning though..so i may have to "examine my eyelids for holes later;) "

Anyway, on the way back i got 5 1/2 kilo of breaburn/boskoop apples for £2.10 -plus a free apple corer/cutter jobbie...... 3 kilo of carrots for 70p -so i got 2....and will be storing them in the cellar in layers of newspaper, and a net with 10 kilo of white cabbages for £2.10, so thats a lot of our veg sorted out for the forseeable future....got 10 kilo of potatoes the other day for £1.40 :j - just waiting for sticks of nobby greens to go "bulk" oh and parsnips and swedes - then i will be really happy..

Got home, that hungry i could have chewed the leg off the table - but was good and quickly dragged 2 portions of pork/veg/barley casserole out of the freezer and did it with new potatoes and nobby greens mmmm followed by sugar free raspberry jelly with peaches in:D so i now have a very happy, full tummy:D ....
whilst dinner was sorting out i made a loaf of bread by hand.... wanted to see if its better/quicker than the BM..as i only use mine to make the dough anyway, as i like to bake it in the oven...and i like to use fresh yeast...so im just waiting for it to finish rising....then we will see, If it is better -that is my bread machine and my food proccessor going on a trip down to the celler -out of my way...more worktop to play on :j Im slowly realising that i have a shed load of machines... that aren't really used that often... including a pasta machine where you throw in the ingredients and then you have a disc on the end and it extrudes through into various shapes..really its like a giant play doh machine for grown ups:p

Beemuzed.... my dad had several strokes -the first in his 20s, so my thoughts are with you, your family and especially your mum - hope she has a speedy recovery

Nelski - glad it was only your car that got hurt!!

HardupHester-no throwing wild parties whilst you have the house to yourself ;)

All those i have missed - sorry, brain is slowing down....need to s..l...e..e.p, sorry nearly went then:rotfl:

Well i hope everyone having a good day carries on doing so, and all of those not...hope things get better

Afternoon all.....OH has just gone off to play bowls and I have just finished the ginormous pile of ironing....that will teach me to stick it in the airing cupboard and ignore it!!!!!

Its a bright day sun shining and a nice breeze coming in through the window.......I have a bucket of apples to peel and cook, managed to give myself a nasty burn last night put the lid of the Romuska down on my hand.oooooooouuuuucccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhh!!!!! so now have a crescent shaped burn on my hand......stuck it under the cold tap and its ok this morning, will teach me to look where I am putting the lid in future.....

No computer yet, so it looks like Tuesday before it goes back, had hoped that it would have appeared this morning......Jay was going to look and see if he had the old disc he took out 2 months ago.......guess he has chucked it away.

Have some sewing to do, nearly finished my friends birthday present, on the home straight, so that is a good job finished....later today (I hope) thankfully with a few days to spare.

Omelette for supper for me, tomorrow using up some of the pork I froze from our dinner party on Tuesday night, so just veg to do, I cooked apples etc for a crumble yesterday they are sitting in the fridge waiting for the topping and the oven.............

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

    ((((Nelski))))

    (((((beemuzed's mum)))))

Typing this whilst we're watching Wales v Australia in the Rugby World Cup. Surprisingly, it's far more interesting than last night's humiliation for England! :o

DH has already cleaned the kitchen this morning. Bless him! :) He's also suggested that we try to clean the rest of the (small) house  He's such a superstar, because left solely to my own devices I'd be living in a slovenly mess......

We walked into town earlier to get a Saturday paper. It's such a beautiful day, so it was nice to get down there. DH treated us to lunch in the deli's cafe - including a lovely piece of chocolate brownie, warmed with ice cream. OMG, it was divine! :D

The previous tenant of our house seems to not have changed his address with any companies - or done a redirection service thing at the Post Office. In the last week, he's had a mobile phone bill and a letter from the Inland Revenue. We've been crossing out the address and putting "Return to sender" etc on it, but it seems bizarre that some people forget to do these things........ Oh well  Not our problem.

Anyway, I'd better go and carry on watching the rugby. :D

    Vicky

PS Yellow sticker quiche from the freezer for tonight's supper! :D

Just thought id pop back again...

The bread machine and food processor have been banished to the celler for the fore seeable future- took loaf of handmade bread out of oven, left it to cool  Honest.... and as soon as it was cool enough i took the crust off and covered it in butter mmmm - have to say - i only had 1/4 of the crust - gave rest to hubby as i am being good :A yep - much better than when the bread machine mixes it.. might be that i prefer it with fresh yeast... but it tasted just like my mums bread :j
