Well I came downstairs to make another cuppa & my lodger announced she was going to see her friends for the weekend, woo hoo, unfortunately she wanted to catch the 7:57 train, I said ok, but she wasn't ready to leave until 8:10!!! Her timekeeping is a bit erratic, she was quite surprised to discover that she'd missed her train, still we made it for the 8:27 train & we have the house to ourselves for the weekend.
Because of her beliefs, she hadn'y watched tv for 7 years, I don't watch a lot, but some fridays I finish work early enough to watch Midsommer Murders, yesterday she sat & watched it with me while I tried to explain to her what was going on. After it finished I went to prepare tea & I passed her the remote, she found a program with Donny Osmond on it, well she was screaming & yelling & laughing, getting so involved in the show, she had me in fits of giggles. She then sat glued to the TV till gone 1am, still it kept her off the pc!
    Plans for today are:-
Cooked brekie for hubby when he gets up
Washing is on the line & 2nd load is in machine
    DW is on
    I'll dust & vac through
I have some stuff to sort out for Ebay, I've had negative feedback from someone who claims they paid for something 3 weeks ago & have not yet received it, but the auction only ended 10 days ago & they didn't pay immediatley. I often wait ages for my stuff & don't complain. A lot of Ebayers are just people decluttering & fit in trips to the post office around work & stuff. But some buyers expect 24/7 service.
Hope everyone has a good day
    Hugs Hester

P.S. I did Carbonara for tea one day this week, the lodger wouldn't eat is as it had mushrooms in, she said in Jamaica they are called 'umbrellas of the dead' I did wonder if this was because some mushrooms are poisonous.

    Morning All

Feel abit of a bad mummy this morn as i had a bellow at the kids for arguing over cars! they are lovely but they always want the "same" thing and the arguing really gets on my nerves sometimes:o and ive been abit down since talking to a friend of mine yesterday who is trying to buy a holiday home. He's one of those people who seem to have everything in life, nice home in a nice area, kids go to the right school, everythings fab! blah blah blah and I seem to be struggling along and feels like im getting nowhere in life :o (just pi**ed me off abit - should be ashamed of myself there's worse things in life I know)

anyway had a shower and things have settled, probably go the park soon to burn off the energy!

DH is still away on his course and seems to be doing ok.

Got an aubergene from lidl so might have a go at making a mousaka!

Been watching "Beat the Takeaway" on tv, its good - last nite he made a kebab and onion rings - yummy!

Tru - have a good time away
Amie - i keep losing my connection - just wondered if you have an orange livebox?

off to dry my hair which is beginning to curl up!
    Enjoy your day everyone xx
  • I had a phone call a while ago from a neighbour, she's gone away & forgotten to cancel her milk. She asked if I would go round, collect & use the stuff on her doorstep & let the milkman know she's away.
I went round & collected a box of broken biscuits, 2 pints of milk (I'll make rice pud later) & her small mixed organic fruit & veg box.
The box cost £7.50 & contained, 2 x brown & shrivelled clementines, 2 x apples, 1 is bruised the other is rotten, 1 x spring greens limp & yellow, 5 x soft potatoes, 2 x corn on the cob, 1 is rotten the other is ok, 12 x small soft carrots & 1 x large onion in super condition. & I was wondering what I was going to do with all the extra veg, until I opened the box, still Thumper & Ogden will enjoy the apple.
    Somehow I don't think I'll be ordering a box!
    Hester

P.S. Hope you are feeling better PP

  • Morning chums ,
not a great couple of days as I have to keep returning to the wound clinic as I still have a big hole in the middle of the scar which is leaking fluid copiously (sp) I have felt really out of sorts as well, very 'fluey' Think it may be an infection.I have to go there again today and the district nurse coming tomorrow to dress and pack wound for me
I have had my letter about chemo and thats due to start on 1st October ,but I won't know until Monday when I see the locum Doctor if they will go ahead if my wound is still 'open'
Its all good fun this cancer malarkey isn't it Although I'm not looking forward to losing me golden(whitish) locks:D I do want it to be over and done with asap.On the list of appointments I see I have one for chemo the day after Boxing day so at least hopefully I will get my Christmas pud and turkey dinner first:rotfl: Hope everyone has a great day:D I am off to my eldest DDs for tea tonight, although I have very little appetite at the moment ,still I shall see my grandkids and they are a bonus on top of everything
I hope your poor mouth is feeling better Penpincher

    Morning all!

Just posting before I jump into the bath! Went to the Drs after work yesterday and came back with a pile of presecriptions and having to arrange a blood test-it's so annoying that you can only get them done on weekday mornings-don't they realise that a lot of people can't get the time off work? They asked if I wanted to sort the appointment out there and then, but I need to speak to my Head of Department etc so I can arrange a late arrival... so frustrating!

Off to visit my lot today, so am trying to get a few things done before we leave-not sure how much though as I still have a few things to do getting ready wise, but even if it's just the dw then so be it, something less to do when we get in this evening.

    Hugs to those who need/want

Have a good weekend everyone (it goes soooo fast now I'm working full time!) x

  • Morning all,

    Hope you are all well,

Firstly thank you all for your kind words, it brought a tear to my eye last night just being able to talk to someone helps, i have a rather bad tendancy to bottle things up from dh and although i havent slept eaten or cried for the last 4 days, the simple thing of posting to a host or virtual friends/strangers* delete as appropriate really helps me.

My dad doesn't even know what has been going on as he's male and i dont want to put the whole pregnancy complication thing on him and my mother is currently in South Korea until Tuesday evening on a lecturing seminar from work and i really didnt want to tell her news like that in emails and ruin her trip so i really have felt i have had nobody to talk to.

I have gotten up this morning in a slightly more possitive mood and am resigning myself to the fact of what will be will be, my stomach is quite painful but just at the site of where the needles went in luckily nowhere near baby.

Hubby is being an absolute star, he has taken all three children out for the day to let me chill out and woke me up this morning with a 'chill out package' of brilliant trashy celeb magazines and chocolate with a very non os mr T finest range ping dinner so i dont need to cook.

I feel sorry for all the people who have procedures and are told to rest for 3 days and dont have people around to look after them.

There are so many of you i want to thank that reply with kind words to everybody who needs them all the time but i darent list individuals in fear of leaving someone out.

PP , i hope the swelling goes down and you start to feel better soon it must be awful.

N9eav, have a wonderful day out i am so jealous :rotfl:

Granny boon, Huge big hugs to you, dont let the b******s get you down, i love reading your posts, your kindness wit and humour never fails to brighten my day:D

Twink, your homemade hobnobs were a godsend last night maybe you should try and sell them to the NHS!

Hope everyone else has as relaxing or as productive a day as possible, hugs to all today whether you need them or not

    Leigh xx
