OS DAILY SATURDAY 15th SEPT

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sat 15th Sept. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. Well despite my thoughts yesterday of "getting the paintbrushes out" they stayed in the shed. I did give the office a good clean out though and shredded loads of old documents and got a new filing cabinet. A few things went on freecycle like a fax machine and printer.
Now it's nice and clean in here. Kids will soon mess it up, but for now....
I think we are going to Plymouth today by train. I got paid today, so there is a few quid spare for a look about the big city. I don't need anything though. I have to save for the big USA vacation at Christmas.
Well must sort though the bills here and pay them and see what I have left. Kids have more to spend than me.
Cheers

Morning Guys!!
Face fully swollen this morning, but had a good sleep:D
WM is on with a hot white wash, DW only half full and toilet scrubbed. House is clean and tidy. Havent enough washing for another load, so will leave until needed.
OH treated us to a curry last night and have tons left for todays lunch.
OH sorting through some of his shirts and clothes today as some need going to the charity shop. Also some weeding and grass cutting to the back garden needs to be done.
I watched Becoming Jane last night and thought it was ever so good.
DD rung a couple of times last night making sure I was OK. She was at 10pm last night, looking through catalogues and eating dougnuts:rolleyes:
Thats enough for now.
Hugs to all and thanks for all the well wishes and PMs.

Hi everyone, I LOVE SATURDAYS !!!
I'm up early as usual, have just had my breakfast and put first load in the washing machine. There is a definate nip in the air here but at least it's bright and dry.
DS2 visited last night - real quality time - we had dinner, watched a dvd and chatted late. Still getting used to the fact that the kids are all grown up - it's 2 years since since the last one left home and I still miss them so! DS1 lives locally, DS2 lives about 40 miles away but they both visit weekly. DD travels and lives abroad, don't see so much of her but she phones regularly. Can't believe where all the years have gone ?
Today I'm going to do the housework in the morning, then go and visit Mum & Dad. After that I think I'll visit Lidl for some bits and pieces. I made Potato Scones last night (posted yesterday on the OS thread), they were yummy so I'm going to make some more today and take to parents.
Hoping to start picking up fruit etc for Xmas cooking today - the chilly weather is making me think of Xmas.
Have a good day.
PP Sorry to hear about your bad day at the dentist.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Morning all.
Plumduff i love saturdays too, plan to get loads of jobs done today including clearing out the dinning room which has become a dumping ground for things that dont have a place to live.
Clean the windows which iv been saying ill do all week, need to get a few bits of shopping to last me until monday, make a shep pie for tommorow inbetween footy matches, and spend some time brainstorming with ds1 about his homework projects.
They are trialing a new homework scheme where instead of regular homework they get set 3 projects which they have 6 weeks to complete, this half term it is French,Art and English, it is really cool idea and is ment to incourage them to develop indepented study skills, he has lots of model making and food planing ect to do.
Right off to make a start, have a lovely day

Hi all, bright and sunny here at the moment, but with an autumnal feel to the air, brr.
PP hope your poor mouth feels better soon, that sounded quite an ordeal.
We went out for a lovely Indian meal last night with DS and DD to celebrate DS's 21st birthday. He goes back to uni tomorrow and I shall miss him SOOO much, he's such a lovely person these days (makes up for all those awful teenage years  ). Consequently I have a pile of ironing to wade through today so that he can take some of his stuff back with him, I just don't think it will all fit in the car so he'll be leaving lots of it behind.
OH and I have been invited to a wedding reception tonight, the first one for years, so we shall be putting on our dancing shoes later.
Plans for today are the ironing, and making DS some of my spicy carrot muffins to take back with him. I also have a bag of cooking apples scrumped from my mum's neighbour's tree (with permission!) to deal with along with a heap of tiny little green tomatoes still left on my plants so I suppose that means chutney.... never tried making that before so that will be an adventure.
Also have some mending to do  I hate mending but poor DD split her trousers yesterday while teaching her young class some form of PE so I have to cover her embarrassment:D .
Brekkie, might just treat us to a grilled brekkie, got some bacon left in the fridge
Lunch: probably a salad of some kind (how organised am I :rotfl: )
Dinner, something at the wedding reception!
Have a great day everyone
