I've just been rejected for a student account due to a default on my credit rating. Are all banks likely to reject me or would it be worth trying another one?

It's a default on your credit history/file.
Who was the bank who rejected you ?
Who do you bank with ? Maybe try them if they offer student accounts.0 -
Sorry, credit history.
It was nationwide, who I already bank with.0 -
How long ago was the default?
Be mindful that a student account's main feature is the interest/fee free OD [although not everyone gets the advertised amount] so if your default is recent this may well put a few banks off.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
