Free Homeopathic treatment anyone?

            hi need_more_money,
I have no intention of insulting anybody and if you got this impression then i'm truly sorry. You are right when you say the medicine is diluted in water - but not only water is left, there is still some trace of the orginal tincture there, which makes it effective. Homeopathy treats 'like with like' so whatever ailment you have there is sure to be a remedy, you just have to find the right remedy and this can sometimes take time unless you go to an experienced homeopathic doctor. In the past people have just bought the homeopathic remedies over the counter e.g. you can find them in various health shops or even boots, and they read up about their ailments in books and find the remedy, but books can't tell you the patients medical history like a homeopathic doctor can. As a homeopathic doctor will ask the same questions as an allopathic doctor, but the only difference is that the homeopath will prescribe the suitable homeopathic remedy. i hope i havent gone on and i hope this sheds some light upon your concern.0

The link is to a motorcycle website.
Just for interest, my mum had a huge ovarian cyst which she had treated at the old Bristol Homeophathic Hospital, which had been around all the time I was growing up. She seemed fine. The cyst made her look about 7 months' pregnant so was quite serious. Don't know why she was treated at the Homeopathic Hospital. I don't think it would have been her choice particularly. Am from a medical family, so I assume she would have been happy in any kind of hospital.

 Thanks
The problem is that the degree of dilution means that there is essentially no trace of the original 'medicine' in the water. Typically dilutions of 10 to the power of 30 (i.e. to one part in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) are used. It has previously been calcuated that, to swallow at least one molecule of the actual compound, you would have to drink 7874 gallons of the homopathic remedy (Robert Park, Voodoo Science - Oxford 2000). Some remedies are diluted even more (10 to the power of 400 - a 1 with 400 zeros after it).sunshine124 wrote: »

Indeed, this is the first 'law' of homeopathy. However, so far as I can find, it has no basis and has no evidence to support it.0

He has nothing to do with bikes. Can't do a link, but if you Google MR MASARU EMOTO you will see what I'm on about.0

            hi dizzydee,
Thx for the links they look very useful and i will read them tommorow coz i just realised what the time was and i need to go to work in the morning, i didn't realise i got so carried away with this homoepathy thread.
Also thx for the info need_more_money, i am aware that homeopathic remedies are very diluted but u say that there is no evidence to support its theory of 'like with like' but you just have to speak with many people across the world who have actually been treated and cured with homeopathy to know that it works. I just want to make it clear that I do not disagree with allopathy. I believe that allopathy can cure many illnesses, but the downside to allopathy is that it sucks all the energy out of the system and has many strong side effects, whereas homeopathy is much more gentler on the body and at the same time can greatly improve the illness.0
