Free movement of people is as vital for a single market as free movement of goods or capital.
Well then maybe we dont have a single market. We dont have a single market with USA or Canada and seem to get on OK trading with them. I dont see anyone arguing the fact we sell USA stuff makes it imperative any American can get free medical treatment or benefits here.0 -

There are well educated lawyers and teachers from Eastern Europe who are working in Starbucks serving coffee to Londoners and Berliners etc because money is better. I don't blame them and would do the same myself given the opportunity.
The freedom of movement might be a nuisance that the rich Industrialised nations can do without but its an absolute catastrophe for the poorer parts of the EU as they have invested a lot of resources in training their workforce up.
To me absolute freedom of movement between disparate economies is a loose loose situation for all.0 -

It isn't imperative obviously but it is something that a lot of us actually want (free movement). You may not like free movement, but a lot of people actually do and see it as a step in the right direction for the world.
The point has been made many many times that the EU did not impose recourse to welfare for EU citizens on the UK, we did that ourselves. We have a non contribution benefits system and as part of the EU we must have this apply to all EU citizens equally. If we didn't have a loony left in this country we probably would have been able to reform our welfare system to a contributions or time based one and that would have solved that problem.0 -

You can tell the impact it has had on poorer areas in the UK too. All the educated people move to more affluent areas for better paying jobs and the areas from which they came stagnate.

whilst I may agree we have a loony benefits system it is the case that the EU gave us the choice
-changing our chosen laws for our 'own ' citizens
or
-give benefits to EU citizens as well
so NO we didn't chose to give these benefots to foreigners it was forced on us by the EU.0 -

We have a trade agreement with the USA and Canada through the EU.
We have free trade within the EU, which is our biggest market.
We are going to be out of the EU and will have trade agreements with no one.
America and Australia have said we'll be at the back of a long line.
The EU are looking like they are going to give us a worse deal after BREXIT than countries that have nothing to do with them.
Little England Brexiteers are about to get a lesson in how little, England really is.
Unfortunately the other 48% of us are going to have to sit in class too.0 -

Probably need to pay a bit more attention in class if you think the EU has a trade deal with the USA0 -

This big global Englander would like you to link me to the American and operational Canadian EU trade deals,...
Next I would strongly suggest you look up all the EU deals on Wiki, and you will note most are with small nations, very small
Perhaps then ponder how it could be that little Switzerland has negotiated a larger value of trade deals than the hopeless EU
