Good that you are getting some attention. It may well be that they are rolling it out and next time my brother shops the same thing will happen. I would expect them to have the same procedure for everyone. Let us know the reply tomorrow!0

Just thought I'd add a random brief update to this ... I got nowhere with Morrisons (just passed around between customer service staff) so I referred my double-payment complaint to The Retail Ombudsman (TRO).
I then learned that Morrisons are not members of TRO scheme. (Membership is not compulsory; members must pay a fee to register with the scheme and use the service.)
Morrisons refused to engage with TRO about my complaint.
I pointed out to TRO that Morrisons' T&CoS on the website signpost directly to TRO as being "the alternative dispute resolution provider [Morrisons] use".
TRO is continuing to pursue a response from Morrisons.0 -
Morrisons pay Ocado to use their online and warehouse technology so there is probably very little Morrisons can do themselves about the issue as its handled by Ocado.0

Thanks for keeping us updated. I would like to know if you get any further with this.
As I have previously said, the reservation and the final payment should have the same transaction code so they cancel each other out. If I had to guess I would say Morrisons is at fault here because they seem to be putting through two separate codes and cancelling the reservation separately to taking the payment which is not what they are supposed to do.0
