Sorry I missed that you had mentioned OT. I would have thought they were the best to provide evidence for the matter of needing help with prompting. Good luck with the appeal.

OH received his PIP letter today to say he doesn't qualify for PIP following a car accident

He is getting results from 2 MRI's tomorrow on his shoulder and spine we are going to ring them with the results and ask for a mandatory reconsideration does anyone know how long this takes?

I am so scared we desperately need this money as he hasn't worked since the accident (6 months yesterday) and we have no money left now and have borrowed from everyone we know. His SSP is due to run out in a couple of weeks

I just don't know what to do any more I am literally at the end of my rope

Sorry if I am missing someting but if your hubby gets SSP and your on 20k a year, you shouldnt be in the position of having no money and having to borrow, surely
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

SSP is only about £350ish a month it isn't that much at all. Based on his winter wage alone we have lost £1000 of income a month. In summer his work has more jobs so we have lost £1500-£2000. His SSP is only for 28 weeks so that is due to end anytime soon and we have nothing to replace that. Our combined income at the moment is probably only about 1,700 now

Our household bills just ct, water rates, gas, electric and to licence about about £260 a month he normally pays half of this . Oh has to pay rent to my brother which is £120 (complicated story there), car payments for him about £150 not including insurance which is about £30ish. So that's all his SSP gone and more before it's even hit his bank account.

My travel to work is £166 add in the credit card payments and loans I am paying for the both of us it does not leave a lot left over

Plus with additional costs of him being home all day, having to travel from Essex to Birmingham for appointments, also travel costs to all his other appointments, prescriptions it all starts to mount up.

Have you posted a statement of affairs on the Debtfree Wannabe board? They can help you tailor your budget to your new circumstances. For instance can you not get rid of the car? That's a big expense if it's not being used.

Unfortunately we need the car to get to his appointments as some are in Birmingham so that's a 236 mile round trip it's too much for him to do by train or coach and that would just as expensive as I would have to go with him each time

I will do I'll sit down at the weekend and go over everything. We weren't in a great position before all this happened but we were beginning to get sorted out slowly but this has thrown a real spanner in the works

Re credit card payments and loans.

It may be worth having a chat with one of the charitable debt advice agencies.

I wonder if a debt management plan may be a possibility.

It has both disadvantages and advantages.

The major advantage is that you would reduce spend on non-priority debt and some creditors will cease charging interest (but some won't).
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.

I think that'll be our only option but I'm desperate not to screw up my clean credit record. I have never had a late or missed payment in my life I don't even have an overdraft. It really distresses me thinking about it

Just dont see why I have to lose my clean record because some twit hit OH while he was established on a mini roundabout and the guy was coming down the road on the wrong side of the road :(

Plus because I work in finance my job could really become an issue if I start getting into trouble with debts

Just wish the company would at least start paying out his lostof earnings we would be ok then
