  • Like so many others, I have been/still am on the above MSE/EON tariff and am waiting to see what the latest tariff offering will be. I understand this will be promulgated from today, Tuesday 13 September, but there's no sign yet of the expected MSE email telling me of this.

Would someone care to advise. or should I just go to the pub? Any prizes for early adopters...?

It was on but seems to have disappeared now. I think CEC is broken.

A mish mash of not very competitive tariffs. The BG offering for me is dearer than the Sainsburys standard to the public tariff. The difference is that Sainsburys has cheap gas and expensive electricity and the BG collective has cheap electricity and expensive gas - they are obviously offsetting one fuel against the other. The electric only offer from Bulb (who?) is their standard variable tariff fixed for a year.

All in all nothing to see here, move along.
  • Waiting here too. A £200 increase is hardly a saving. If the collective switch isn't as favourable as I would like, then there is little point in being in the club. Seems the discount for collective switching has been reduced to pitance.

    And it's back.

The one thing this has shown me is that one rule OFGEM need to make is that an energy supplier can make whatever daily standing charge it wants but can only have one for each fuel per year no matter how many different tariffs it has.

Yes, I agree, molerat. For me, the BG offer is £50 cheaper than the Sainsbury's fix; that's because we are high users of electricity.

But I'll be staying on my E.ON 2-Year fix of last July.

Thanks for the warning about CEC crashing: I'll keep my comparison result page up, stored on another display, for the time being! :)

The collective switch information is on the energy club but is £23 a year more expensive than where I already am.

same problem as last time - very low unit rates (electricity for Midlands region at 9.135 per kWh) but very high standing charges - 21.8p a day, which wipes out any gain.

I think these collective switches are now a waste of time if I'm honest and seem pitched at people who are already with one of the big six.
  • I am a bit confused as no big switch prices are coming up for me??

Yes same here and I am definitely pre registered with the club. Perhaps there is a glitch in their system.
