A few UUs:
- 2 x Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi melt (small). WNB - always have a few of these around from various placesLove it, but would not pay the price for it!
- Nip + Fab Body slim Fix mini - WNB. Not even as a normal body lotion. Just nothing special.
- Tisserand Sweet Dreams bath oil (20ml). WNB. Used in one bath, smelled nice, but nothing special that would make me go out and buy it. Give my lush bubble bars any day0 -
2 INs from Boots clearance today and 1 IN yesterday:
Dove Pure Care Dry Oil 100ml - My current hair oil isn't the best and it looks almost finished (though these things tend to last longer than I think). This cost £1.50 and I think it will last a while.
Vichy Ideal Soleil SPF 50 Dry Oil 125ml - This was reduced to £1 in Boots Clearance and I noticed that it's suitable for face so I bought it as a daily SPF. I wore it today and it gave me a little glow without looking greasy so I'm impressed so far.
Radox Muscle Soak Herbal Bath 500ml - My guiltiest purchase although it was only £1. It's just finding the time to use it that's the trouble. I'm needing a relaxing bath but I'm always clock watching because I'm so busy and stressed. I hope Sunday will be a good time to use it.
UU
Superdrug Self-Heating Face Mask Vanilla Fudge 15ml - I got 3-4 uses out of this and I have one face mask a week as part of my routine. At 25p this turned out to be good value for money. I like that it contains clay as it seemed to clear up my skin. WDBA.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 10 -
VALM - DD is nearly 13 and DS is 10 so we have a while yet, it's DD that worries me, she is so headstrong, opinionated and has to try everything plus she spends money for fun.
I have a uu

What I would say is there is always loads of help available if she needs it, although universities tend to really struggle to explain and promote this to students. I know the one I worked for had a money advice team for example! What was sad was they spent a lot of time helping young people who had gotten themselves into a right pickle with debts, but they did a fantastic job helping advise those in need and especially those without parental support and guidance, which your daughter clearly has!
I had a job at university and I'm very glad I did. I kept the same one the whole time I was there and got it straight away before it became hard to find one. Yes at times it was tough balancing things but I only did it one day at the weekend or the odd evening shift after class. It was also somewhere I wanted to buy things from so I sort of worked to pay for my clothes.... Even if that is essentially what happened!
It massively helped my CV on graduating. From seeing university from both sides I'm aware even those with seemingly slightly rubbishy part time work are in a better position when graduating as it shows they can stick at something.
What helped me at university was using cash, getting good at cooking, staying in a lot (fairly easy for me as a bit of a natural introvert who tired of going out on the drink!) no credit card no store cards.
I didn't have a bank of mum and dad apart from a tiny amount a month at one point when I was going to really struggle to make ends meet. Like £50 I think it was.
I also found time at work helped me cope with university stress better, as it was in some ways a proper break from studying and a new set of people. I graduated with a first class degree in the end and did better than some people who made a point of not working to have more time to study.
Thanks for your post Houseplant. Emma did have a part time job until recently and was counting on a transfer but the only one that was available to her was too far to travel to from Uni. She has mentioned looking for work in the Student Union bar/cafe at Uni. I've told her to look around the local stores as well as it's coming up to Christmas Temp time (that's how she got her last job).Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Hi everyone. I'm a bit behind on the thread but stopping in quickly before i go away tomorrow.
I have INs, mostly due to a Lush Kitchen order.
10. Sleek Goodnight Sweetheart Palette
11-12. Dove Regenerate Shampoo and Conditioner. My hair is so brittle at the moment and nothing in my stash is really suitable for that problem so giving this a go.
13. Derma V10 Micellar Water. This is the brand they sell in £land so I'm hoping it's good!
14. Palmers Coconut Oil Lipbalm
15. Apple Orchard Candle. This was from B&M Bargains and apparently is a dupe for a Bath and Body Works one? Really Christmassy smell.
16-18. 3x Lush Pop in the Bath because they said they were discontinuing it but now they're not.
17. Lush Kitchen Baby Face Solid Cleanser
18-19. 2x Lush Kitchen Ne Worry Pas Bath Bombs
20. Lush Kitchen Rainbow Worrier Bath Bomb
21. Lush Kitchen Waving not Drowning Bath Bomb
Luckily I also have UUs!
19. New Look Amber Vanilla Candle WBA. This was lovely.
20. Kind Natured Ylang Ylang and Sage Conditioner WNBA. Smelt quite nice but nothing special and not intensive enough for my hair.
21. Lush Butterball Bath Bomb WBA although this didnt seem to dissolve or fizz as easily as the Butterbears. Could just be that it's a little bit old though.
And I TA Organic Surge Intensive Smoothing Serum because it started to smell off.
Hopefully I won't do too much more damage while on holiday. I shouldn't be near shops too often. I've also got a few things at home with only one or two more uses in so they should go at the beginning of next month.
I'll try and catch up with the thread soon! Have a lovely weekend everyone!0 -
I have used a lot of the fcuk fragrance this past week. I've been spraying it on myself every time i think about it.
I just want it gone. Mum got it for me 3 christmases ago. I hadn't opened it for 2 years due to a "backlog" of other fragrances/sprays and now i have other, much smaller(thus, be UU quicker) fragrances and sprays i want to start using alternately so i can have a different scent depending on my mood etc. I'm getting very bored of the scent of the fcuk.
I have about a 5th or a bit less than that left now and I'm determined to get it finished before the end of the month, that way i can declare it this month and not carry it over into next month0
