finished a claudalie glycolic mask. it is really nice but i want to finish other acids before buying more.
gave away unopened gift set.
it has been a really low use month.0 -
I have one UU and two other hand creams which are also almost finished so I hope I'll finish at least one of them before the end of the month.
UU
Nip + Fab Detox Blend Hand Cream 50ml - Initially I found the scent of this a little masculine but I got used to it and quite like it now. I got this in a reduced price gift set (essentially 3 hand creams for £3) in the Superdrug January sales. I would maybe buy this again if it was a bargain but I've used other creams which I prefer. No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 10 -
7 by Autumn Update I'm afraid this was a fail.
Completed Items
4 - UU - Benefit Porefessional mini 7.5ml. - Have also UU a mini Lancôme primer (WNBA for either item) - Managed to UU 2 mini primers from the stash rather than just 1
5 - TA OPI Push and Pur-Pul Mini - OPI mini polishes - target changed to any of my OPI mini's. Hopefully I will get rid of more of these, I have way too much.
So total of 3 items UU - Only 2 from the challenge.
Items still remaining
1 - Benefit Fake up Concealer Full sized - Hate this
2 - Benefit Watts Up Highlighter sample 2.5g. - Prefer Powder highlighter
3 - Urban Decay Scandal Lip Gloss mini 1.7ml. - almost gone
6- Urban Decay Eye Shadows, 505/50 from Naked on the run palette just remaining round the edges and in the corners
7 - Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado, Olive & Basil Body Lotion 250ml. Almost there
I would like to join the 5 by Christmas Challenge. The 5 items are:
1 - OPI mini polish - would like to get rid of more of the mini's I have
2 - Urban Decay one & Done - this is a light weight product I have been using in the summer when I don't want to use foundation, there isn't much left but won't use this as much now the weather is changing adding to the list to ensure I make an effort to UU before it goes off.
3 - 1 Lancôme sample Day Cream - nearly finished my full size Hydrazen, want to UU at least 1 sample before I open another full size
4 - 1 Travel size Body lotion - Once the Crabtree & Eveylyn one is gone would like to try and continue using Body lotion. I think UU a travel size is manageable
5 - UU 1 Urban Decay eye shadow - other than 50/50 - have loads of eye shadow and loads that have hit pan, would like to get some more finished.
Lets hope I do better with this challenge and manage to UU some of the carried over items from the last challenge as well.0 -
I have finished the Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink which was in my 7 by Autumn challenge, there was only a day left in it. WMBA but I am totally fed up of it at the moment.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Here's my 7 by Autumn final score - not awful, but didn't quite get there either!- Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks contour kit - still have loads in this, it's never-ending! Fail
- assorted bath products ([STRIKE]2 very old Lush bath bombs[/STRIKE] - all gone!, Tisserand Sweet Dreams bath oil 20ml, and M&S Morroccan Escape bath essence 50ml) - a partial fail, I still have the non-lush stuff.
- Benefit Confessions of a concealaholic kit - OMG this is neverending! Partially done: Binned the erase paste, as I hate it. Offered it to a friend first, but wrong colour for her. Big dent in the lemonaid, which I have discovered I love, and a small dent in the eye bright, which I'm not so keen on. One Boing colour is almost gone, and the other is just too light for me. So I did make huge progress with the kit, and worked out what bits I like and how to use them, which was my actual goal. I'll carry it over to the next challenge though to finish it.
- 2 primers (Monu illuminating primer spf 15, and one other) - not a chance! The Monu one is lasting forever. But I love it, so that's okStill a fail though
- [STRIKE]2 eye treatments/creams [/STRIKE](Clinique custom smart eye treatment, and Clinique all about eyes) - both gone, plus a bonus 3rd!
- [STRIKE]2 hair serums (ogx coconut milk serum, and Toni&Guy radiating tropical elixir[/STRIKE]) - Both finished
- [STRIKE]2 cleansers (Ren gentle cleansing milk 25ml, and Elemis Omega rich cleansing oil 50ml[/STRIKE]) - only a few drips left in the Elemis one, so I'm calling that a success for the purposes of the challenge0 -
VALM - how are you feeling about Emma going to Uni, I will be in bits when mine go?
Hi dolly84. I have really mixed emotions. I know that she is sensible when she goes out with her mates and can look after herself as she's travelled alone over the last couple of years but I am really worried how she will cope financially as she is really bad with money. She no sooner has it then it's spent. She was given a sum of money for her 18th that we had been holding from MRM's mum when she died and we've told her we will send her a weekly allowance from it because it would be gone if she got her hands on it. She also seems to have this thing whereby she feels that she needs to be out of the house every day which is fine if you can fund it. Am hoping that once she's in an environment with others who can't afford to go out she'll curb it. She also doesn't want to find a job to supplement her income and has made excuses not to which is a huge bone of contention with me.
Other than that I am going to miss her but know that she needs to go. The thought of her kind of falling into a career and not being able to fund her own home at some point in the future is not one I want for her.
Anyway, thanks for asking. How old are your children? Are they close to Uni age?Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

As someone who graduated from university not in the too distant past and who has also worked for one in student services I promise she will be ok!
What I would say is there is always loads of help available if she needs it, although universities tend to really struggle to explain and promote this to students. I know the one I worked for had a money advice team for example! What was sad was they spent a lot of time helping young people who had gotten themselves into a right pickle with debts, but they did a fantastic job helping advise those in need and especially those without parental support and guidance, which your daughter clearly has!
I had a job at university and I'm very glad I did. I kept the same one the whole time I was there and got it straight away before it became hard to find one. Yes at times it was tough balancing things but I only did it one day at the weekend or the odd evening shift after class. It was also somewhere I wanted to buy things from so I sort of worked to pay for my clothes.... Even if that is essentially what happened!
It massively helped my CV on graduating. From seeing university from both sides I'm aware even those with seemingly slightly rubbishy part time work are in a better position when graduating as it shows they can stick at something.
What helped me at university was using cash, getting good at cooking, staying in a lot (fairly easy for me as a bit of a natural introvert who tired of going out on the drink!) no credit card no store cards.
I didn't have a bank of mum and dad apart from a tiny amount a month at one point when I was going to really struggle to make ends meet. Like £50 I think it was.
I also found time at work helped me cope with university stress better, as it was in some ways a proper break from studying and a new set of people. I graduated with a first class degree in the end and did better than some people who made a point of not working to have more time to study.0 -
