To those who helped talk me out of buying new foundation primer... I've done well today I had a bit more time to do my makeup so I trialled a half used Bobbi Brown foundation id half given up on ages ago as too heavy and made me feel I looked a bit lifeless. I shoved some Topshop bronzing highlighter on top and it looked OK! So when my HG foundation dies I will try using this with my spare primer and see how I get on.
Yay. I've found that a subtle bronzer can really carry me through Summer when my normal foundation colour does not "fit". I used to use Laura Geller Bronze N Brighten but at the moment am using Tarte Park Avenue Bronzer in pink.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Not loving the feel on the skin of this foundation so much. My skin feels tighter today if that makes sense. Gonna miss my current usual foundation when dies....0 -

Can you mix it with a bit of your normal moisturiser before you apply it? That might make it feel a bit lighter when applying, and not so tight later.
In advent calendar news (;)) the first details are out! Clarins is doing one this year, £95. No, I'm not tempted as I'm not a big Clarins fan, but it's the start of the news and releases I guess:

I have a couple of INs this week, all free for testing
Facial wipes
Dark self tan (smell ok)
Wondered if I could ask some advice (off topic I know). Having problems with my neighbours.
I have a shared fence with my next door neighbour (through the wall). It is in the title deeds that it is shared. When I bought the house the fence was falling down and I had plenty of other stuff inside the house to improve first before replacing the fence.
She has planted leylandi trees inside her boundary fence (these are now really tall and blocking light into my sitting room). She refuses to pay a share of the fence, insisting it is my fence and has even got to the point of shouting to me as I get out my car that she's not paying for it. My lawyer has written twice to her, pointing out it is shared and asking for her to contact him. But she hasn't. I don't want to pay out 100% for a fence. Her garden is full of tat and junk from poundshops and she has a cat that comes into my garden to go to the toilet.so would like to make it more secure too.
Other neighbour that lives further along the street has a garage near me. She is a hopeless driver and makes a pigs ear out of trying to put her car into and out of the garage. It's not the first time she's came to the door and rudely demanded that I move my car (that's parked outside my door out the way). The first time I moved it before I came wise to her lack of driving abilities, since then I've had various notes stuck to my winsdcreen.
She has a driveway and ample parking space outside her door (and it's also a cul-de-sac so very little traffic). I was out last night and came home to find a note stuck to my windscreen that started with - "I'm asking nicely..!" No you're not! She wanted it moved and also said she was having a knee operation soon and was using a crutch. Surely she shouldn't be driving into difficult situations (as she's not the best driver) and also walking longer distances than she needs! Also her hedge is about 3 feet overgrown into the pavement and it's quite antisocial.
Seriously at my wits end with these people, their narrowmindedness is wearing me down. Would rather not sell but I can't see how I can win over these people.Any ideas??
Sorry for the long post and thanks for taking the time to readLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

Another UU:
Primark Argan Facial Cleansing Wipes (25 pack) - Got this in a pack of two for £1 which was great value and I really like the scent and feel on my skin. WDBA but haven't seen this type recently in Primark. Have replaced with almost finished packet of baby wipes to use on my face.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 10 -
assett - if you go onto your local council website and have a look around for the overgrown vegetation bit or similar you can send them a message with your neighbours addresses on and details of the overgrown hedges/trees, the council send a letter saying they have to deal with it within xx amount of time or they will do it and charge them. You may have to put your details on but this won't be on the letter.
I have a uu
OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil To Go 7.5ml - WNBA this was the last of several, it is oil until the last 1/4 ish then it turns into a gel for some reason, plus it seems to be drying to me.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
Fashion on the Ration 28/660 -
Valm - Maybe it's good not to have the temptation of the Porridge soap then!
Gemzie - Yes, I saw they were keeping the Pop in the Bath the day after I ordered 4!
Glad to hear you're getting some proper legal advice, I hope it helps!
Asset2004 - I've had my own neighbour troubles in the past, once ending up in assault, so I know how frustrating it can be and how much it can grind you down. With regard the shared fence, I'm not sure there's much else you can do further than what you're already doing. I suppose it depends on if you're getting to the point where you're willing to pay for the whole lot yourself.
I find people are just much more selfish and unreasonable in general these days. That makes me sound really old but it's true! I think it's so much easier to just be agreeable and helpful. Unfortunately not everyone agrees with me!
As for the parking issue, that sounds bizarre! As long as you're not blocking her access I don't understand what her problem is! Why doesn't she just use her drive? Maybe it's worth suggesting she uses her drive as it's less of a walk on crutches? Also, maybe she shouldn't be driving after a knee op?!
I second the council option regarding her hedge as it is growing onto a public area.
I know I haven't been much use but trust me you have my sympathy!

I have an IN of a DW Home White Rose candle from TK Maxx. I like this brand but it's American and I can't find them anywhere apart from the occasional one in TKMaxx.
Also some UUs:
16. Lush Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar WBA. I have more on the way if my Lush order ever dispatches!
17. Candle Belle Mega Melt Spring Tulips WMBA - Not as strong a scent as others from Candle Belle but still nice.
18. Candle Belle Mega Melt Bed of Roses WBA. Lovely fresh rose scent.
I turned all my Mega Melts into candles because I assumed the wax would be exactly the same but I think it's softer or something as they burn down super quick as candles.
Also one GA. Balance Me Tinted Eyecream. Was a mag freebie. It doesn't do anything for me except make me slightly itchy.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone, however wet it is!0 -
Speaks of itchy..... This foundation really isn't working out for me, even with a dab of moisturiser in it (thanks for the good suggestion!) my face looks all cakey. Think I'm going to have to relegate its status to that of occasional concealer and hope my usual one lasts a bit longer still!
I have one minor UU. A teeny sample of Queen of Hungary facial most by Omorovicza. WMBA if I had more money. It's lush but mega pricy this was part of a GWP. I do want a nice facial spritz as they're so fun to use and make you feel so much more relaxed and hydrated, but none of the more affordable brands seem to be making decent ones yet.
All this talk of Lush is making me want to buy new lush things but I shall resist!0 -
With my liz earle magazine I had a voucher for a free sample tub of concentrate cream so I have added that to my stash. Also IN is a LE instant boost tonic (HG) as my current one is spluttering. I TA two lip glosses as they had gone sticky and I had an allergic reaction to them. I am slowly replacing all my chemical laden products to natural and organic ones. I UU boots lip spf balm WNBA as have replaced it with a organic one.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480
