    Porridge Soap (Sorry Valm!)

I'd been banned from buying it anyway due to it blocking the drains!

We are going to York in a month, so many lovely places to look/shop, I don't think that I will be tempted by anything other than shadows or nail polish though:o Must try and stay strong as I really need some new boots for the winter:eek:

We are going to York again also the weekend after next. We are driving Emma to Newcastle on the Saturday then going to York to stay overnight on the Sunday as it's our Wedding Anniversary on the Monday. May have to go into the Yorkshire Soap Company.

An update on my 7 by Autumn list

    [STRIKE]Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer[/STRIKE] - b/f from 7 by summer
Max Factor Cream Blush in Soft Pink - b/f from 7 by summer
Lancome Juicy Tube - mini GWP size
Korres Rose Tinted Lip Balm - the stick type one
Smashbox Photo Finish Eye Primer - sample size
Bobbi Brown Pale Pink Powder Blush - mini in a GWP palette
Urban Decay Double Ended Eye Liner - Zero/Corrupt - just want to finish Corrupt.

    .

I only have a few items left from my finish 7 by Autumn challenge being the Burts Bees lip shimmer, Benefit Dallas powder and Smashbox Full Exposure pallette. I wanted to try and UU the lip shimmer and make bigger dents in the other two powder products but to be fair I'm bored of using them all. Roll on the next challenge but I won't include these.

So I went into town and didn't actually buy that many toiletries but instead bought loads of comfy clothes for my hospital bag and for nursing after the baby is here...definitely cheered me up as OH paid for everything!

After hearing about the Korean stuff you've been talking about and bargains in TK Maxx I decided to investigate.

    INs:
5 x Korean sheet masks - unsure of the exact brand but they have red wine extract
    .

I'm really not sure whether I'm impressed by sheet masks as I don't like having product left on my skin. I've tried two different brands and they have both left my face feeling sticky afterwards.

Emma however loves the Tony Moly ones and if anyone can point me in the direction of a reasonably priced site I'd be grateful. Or any recommendations for masks of a similar quality.

    Hi to our newbie.

And sorry to hear your work struggles continue Gemzie. Big Huges xx

Oh god spaceNK have just dropped their gift with purchase. Although not sure I'm that excited buy it. I was debating it as at some point I will need to get some more Emma Hardie amazing face cleanser and oil as they are my total holy grail products but I'd have to buy other things too to do the spend, and I totally can't afford to!

Welcome to the thread Houseplant 26.

This is how they reel you in. The best bet is to work out what you feel you "need" now ie what are you going to run out of imminently. Find the best deal and order these products only. Feel smug at not having added to your basket to buy products you don't really want/need instead of stashing the products away feeling regret that you spent money you could not afford. x

  • Hi ladies!

Advent calendars . . . I really wanted the L'occitane one last year but it sold out very quickly. I did see it in East Midlands Airport - on my outward journey, flying hand luggage only, so I would have had to open all the doors before coming home! Instead I bought the Ciate one which I really enjoyed. The varnish chips quickly on me though (as with pretty much every nail varnish) so probably WNBA. May look out for L'occiatane's this year . . . my bodycare stash is low, it's my makeup stash that is my Primary Issue . . .

    Some UUs:
Garnier day moisturiser - this was £1.25 in Sainsburys, and I actually really enjoyed it - it has got me regularly using a day moisturiser which I never did before. Replaced with a Vichy moisturiser.
Original Source coconut & shea butter shower gel - WBA, HG, replaced with the same

30 days of blush challenge (which I saw on Instagram) - as a fair lady - I have identified eight blushes so far, all in one Makeup Revolution palette, that I just cannot pull off. They are much too dark for me and don't blend very well. I had been putting off even trying them out for a while so this has been a useful exercise! It only cost me £1 so no great loss.

    Be good :)

Xmas isn't far off, which means all the December offers and NY sales aren't far off either! It's worth saving up for those - you can then hopefully get your actual HG products with cool freebies, or discounted!

(Clinique always do fantastic offers in December - I'm trying to hold out for those to get some new facial serum :) )

Thank you! I think you're right, or even put things on Christmas list. I popped into SpaceNk to scratch the itch and to be honest the clutch bag feels cheap and I'm not hugely excited by the freebies seeing them in the flesh.

I do this thing where I write things I'd buy in an ideal world, if I had more funds, into my phone as a note. It helps me not impulse buy and know what to ask for Christmas if the things are still wants then and they still exist. This also means I am ready if I ever have a suddenly lottery win, unlikely as I don't tend to play!
  • I've not put up a PP list for this month yet so I thought I'd add one now to feel inspired. It's been a busy month so I'm just focusing on using up a few products I'm running out of anyway.

PP list (Total - 9 products)
Superdrug Cherry and Macadamia Body Butter 200ml - Have about 2-4 uses of this left.
The Body Shop Frosted Plum Body Butter 200ml - Have about the same amount of this left.
Impulse body spray - Can't remember the name of the scent but it's the yellow can. It's tantalisingly close to being finished.
Johnson's Baby Oil 100ml - Took this mini bottle on holiday and there's only about 4 uses left.
Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner 250ml - There's only a little of this left but it's lasted years.
Soap and Glory Body Butter 50ml tube - I've been using this after every shower so it's slowly getting used up.
Creighton's Hand and Nail Cream 100ml tube - I only have a little of this left after having it in my work bag for about 3 months. It's back in my handbag so I should hopefully use up the rest soon.
Dove Hand Cream 75ml tube - This is now in my work bag so I'm hoping the rest of it will use up.
Nip + Fab Detox Blend Hand Cream 50ml - This has been sitting by my sink and it's now feeling extremely light.

I hope there will be a few surprise use ups among this stuff but I'll just focus on these for now. Does anyone else find it hard to give away stuff? For some reason I like to know I have used it all up myself so it doesn't go to waste (unless I really don't like it). It makes me feel I've had my money's worth. There's a tombola soon in the local village hall so I'm going to try and part with some stuff to donate to it.
    No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 1
  • I also have 1 UU to add - every little helps! :)

    UU
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo 60ml - I found this in my brother's bin only about half empty and I've managed the contents last a few months of washing about once a week for me. I still have some T-Gel left so I won't be repurchasing any similar shampoo for a while.
    No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 1
  • I have a couple of minor UU

2x Nivea in shower body moisturer sachets
2x OUIA intensive hair conditioner sachets WMBA these were gift with purchase but my hair feels awesome today so perhaps when my affordable hair care runs out I could treat myself.
  • Another tear jerking UU. My beloved Georgio Armani Maestro UV skin defence SPF 50+ has given up the ghost. WDBA total HG I love that it is factor 50+ and it lasted forever, also felt smooth on skin makeup went on well after and supposedly makes your face better in flash photography.

To those who helped talk me out of buying new foundation primer... I've done well today I had a bit more time to do my makeup so I trialled a half used Bobbi Brown foundation id half given up on ages ago as too heavy and made me feel I looked a bit lifeless. I shoved some Topshop bronzing highlighter on top and it looked OK! So when my HG foundation dies I will try using this with my spare primer and see how I get on.
