  • Oh god spaceNK have just dropped their gift with purchase. Although not sure I'm that excited buy it. I was debating it as at some point I will need to get some more Emma Hardie amazing face cleanser and oil as they are my total holy grail products but I'd have to buy other things too to do the spend, and I totally can't afford to!

You have too many toiletries as it is. Don't even *THINK* about buying a beauty advent calendar!

Although, partial smack reprieve to pinkfluffybabe, what a brilliant idea to make your own! :T How many of us have got samples that could be made into an advent calender? 24 of the best decorated nicely would be a good use-up event. Perhaps we could post picture if we decorate them nicely and do it proper Advent calender stylee?:j

I'm not buying one. I got the YOU one once and whilst I enjoyed it, they just seem to put in the same products each year. The whole point of these is to try new products IMO.

I got The Body Shop one once. It would be good if you travel a lot as it was full of travel sizes in sturdy pots/bottles. I actually saved the products and used them over three trips. I wish I had bought the Eid one instead as the products were the same, but the packaging was considerably prettier than the Xmas one.

I also once bought the Ciate nail polish one in TK Maxx. The brushes were too fiddly and some of the colours were minging though!

I think the only calendar I might be tempted by would be a L'Occitane one, but I expect it will be too expensive.
  • My huge 100ml bottle of FCUK fragrance is going down! :D

I have about half left and I'm starting to get a bit bored of the scent now so I'm spraying some on whenever I can. Not only will it use it up faster but it will ensure I smell pretty too! :o

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Love this!

Although my stash is actually pretty good now - some areas are completely run down, mostly skin care and shampoo/conditioner. The problem areas are: primers, eyeliner, and hair serums. I'm looking for a new job at the moment so may treat myself to a calendar when I get one ;)

Seriously - the only serums and moisturisers I have are open (one of each only), and they aren't HG. I'm refusing to buy anything until I sort a job out though.

Omg that is incredible! No way I would ever spend the amount of money needed to get my hands on it though. But it is beautiful :smileyhea

I've had 2 ciate ones in the past, but bought half price in the NY sales ;) I love them! The brushes don't bother me, but I agree the colours are hit and miss. Generally my friends will like the colours I don't though, so none go to waste.

Thankyou everyone for the support, means a lot :happyhear

Solicitor confirmed that i am being discriminated against and he said it is a fundamental breach of contract and also that the relationship of trust that exists between employer and employee has been damaged (trust as in trusted them to allow me to do my job safely and make adjustments, having been there for a long time). GP has writen me off sick for both depression and because she said its unsafe for me to go back to work there. In the meantime solicitor wants me to write a letter of grievance explaining how the way i have been treated has affected me and that all parties (myself, GP, solicitor) believe that a reasonable adjustment would be to have me do shifts in some capacity at old care home where ive always worked and can manage the shifts, with an extra break and my shifts split up where possible. He said no reasonable employer could ignore a letter like this and that it will usually trigger a meeting where i can put my views accross again. He said failing this, it then becomes constructive dismissal as they have made it unsuitable for me to return to work = we then take them to tribunal for disability discrimination if i cannot get the adjustments made so i can return to work. He said under equality act and law in general relating to disability they must make changes to allow me to work, including moving able bodied staff around if necessary. I dont want to cause trouble, but i also do need to work, and having been there 5 years i do expect some kind of consideration. :-/ dont want to take them to tribunal, would mych rather have my job back and a bit of financial stability, but at same time if they wont give me the adjustments then i must stop them doing this to someone else in the future, cant just resign and let them get away with bullying me out of my job. There is no legal aid available now which might be a problem, but he said we will look at the options if it gets to it. :-/

Gemzie121 it sounds like you've found a pretty smart solicitor, and it;s great you now have some great advice, and support both from your solicitor and doctor. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that something awesome gets worked out for you.
  • Argh the Space NK stuff taunts me!

My HG posh primer, which actually seems quite good value as has lasted forever it feels well over 6motnhs, by Georgio Armani is spluttering. Like tip it upside down on back of hand and bang hard spluttering. It's also a dropper bottle so can't cut open. HG foundation from same brand will go same way in next month.

Unsure what to do. Gut says to just replace as they're amazing. However for the money I could also replace with something from space NK play other HGs that are running out and do it all while this gift offer is on.

However I cannot afford to really. I don't have debts but I also have no savings.

I really should find an old primer and foundation and use up. I think I have a tiny bit of another primer left and also another foundation with some left but I recall not liking it much. Once my cleanser runs out I have others I can use for now. When my facial oil runs out I may think about replacing but may last another month.

I need someone to tell me to be good!

    Be good :)

Xmas isn't far off, which means all the December offers and NY sales aren't far off either! It's worth saving up for those - you can then hopefully get your actual HG products with cool freebies, or discounted!

(Clinique always do fantastic offers in December - I'm trying to hold out for those to get some new facial serum :) )

Hi ladies, am back from my hols. Was such a good relaxing break and it's nice that the sun is shining back her in the UK too. So quite a few INs to report:-

From Manchester Airport MRM bought me 2 x MAC lipsticks - Chilli and Dare You. Dare You is absolutely gorgeous. Love it. I also got a Clinique Lash Power mascara and a tube of L'occitane Cherry Blossom handcream.

On the plane I treated myself to a bottle of Paco Rabanne Olympea as I had given my bottle of L'Occitane Violette and Rose de Mai fragrance to Emma as she loves the parma violet smell and I can't get past the association with Mr Scheen. I also bought Emma a bottle of Black Opium.

Wasn't much chance of buying cosmetics in Gran Canaria (as opposed to the US) however from Fund Grube I picked up a a tub of Rituals body scrub and a can of their foam body wash. Can't recall the fragrance name but the packaging is green coloured. Was a small discount on these items.

Then at Gran Canaria aiport I bought 2 x bottles of OPI lacquer for myself and Emma (You're a Bad Mufelletta and I Think in Pink respectively). MRM then bought me the mini pack on the plane coming home. Love all the colours and am today wearing Got Myself into a Jambalaya. He also bought Emma a tube of Benefit Roller Lash (Jet2 had 20% off all onboard purchases both incoming and outgoing flights - seemed rude not to buy anything).

I did take with me a few sample sachets of L'Occitane Almond body lotion. Love this but won't buy full size as I'm pretty sure most of the expense is due to do with the glass packaging.

I also took a small tube of L'occitane Jasmine & Bergamot Neroli body wash and TA what I didn't use as I didn't like the sweet smell very much.

Had a small catastrophe in that my bottle of Pixi Glow Tonic leaked so I'll have to buy more soon, forgot my deodorant so had to buy a replacement there and lost my brush somewhere in resort. Bought a new one when I got home.

Also, this week the Autodelivery of the Tarte TSV from 1 June arrived so Emma has new foundation, mascara and brush and I have Energy Noir palette (I insisted as she has kept the Showstopper one from the last drop), eyeliner and lip pencil. Think I'll try and sell these on fb if I get the chance though.

Things very busy at the mo in getting Emma ready for Uni and this weekend will be spent buying last minute bits. I have bought her quite a few toiletries but won't count them as INs as they are not for me.

Also have workmen booked in for 3 October to sort out my dry rot problem. Have managed to make contact with the Landlord next door via the local Environmental Health people and am hopeful that she will at least get the work done to her property so that my guarantee will not be voided at least.

Will try and catch up with the thread.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
