Many congratulations to your OH flutterby. I enjoy the leggera pizzas but always feel they should be lower syns than they are! If I were you I'd just carry on saving syns as best you can to offset last night and the wedding. This week probably will be a write off but you can try and keep the gain as low as possible.

That's an amazing number of syns for your Morrison's meal lois. Like you I thought maybe a few syns for oil but 11:eek:. It just goes to show how difficult it can be to eat out on SW.:(

You're doing amazingly well sticking to plan ruby. You're away from your work stresses and then you have the hospital visit to cope with. Good for you!:T Ironically, hospitals can be very difficult places to eat healthily and that applies to in and out patients.

Had to go to a different group this week to weigh in.

    down 1 lb

I was hoping for a bit more but different scales so.....

At least it's a loss fozzie.:T I wonder how the calibration works on SW scales. The last group I went to had been having huge problem and showing losses that were too big. Members were furious when the scales were fixed.

I need to get to a group soon but I'm feeling a bit fat (probably last week's meals out catching up) so maybe give it a miss today. I'm still thinking about it.:)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: ham with bubble & squeak and beetroot
D: gammon slices, new potatoes, carrots and cabbage
Syns: squirt of syrup, maybe 3/4 syns of chocolate
  • Good morning all.

Struggled to get to sleep last night so didn't get out of bed until half 12 today. Oops.
Never mind. I've made sw tomato and basil soup again so lunch for this week is sorted.
Need to go to tesco (again!!) as forgot to pick up more chicken breasts last night. Going to attempt the chicken tikka masala from the sw website! I'm sure it'll turn out to be a disaster.. I am the worst cook!!

    Xx
  • hello all, i'm sure some of you will recognise my name

I did stick to slimming world most of the time throughout the pregnancy and at jus under 36 weeks, I have put on 20lbs... which I am happy with considering the last few weeks I have not stuck to plan at all!

DH is now panicking as he has high cholesterol and a suspected inflamed bowel. I am convinced that the inflamed bowel is due to him being on antibiotics recently and his horrific diet (minimal fibre and fruit/veg). His cholesterol is probably partly due to how much cheese, tomato sauce and processed ham he eats. So, yet again, he is promising to do what he can and stick to slimming world with me.

I need to try and prepare meals that don't involve a lot of prepackaged food. I tend to live on alpen bars and muller lights when following slimming world properly which soon adds up in the shopping budget. Doesn't help that DH is a fussy creature at the best of times.

Anyway, I shall try my best to post regularly rather than just lurking :)

Hi, welcome back, you're doing really well to only gain 20lbs during pregnancy.

It may help you to persuade your DH that SW works if you tell him that my DH has improved all his numbers for blood sugar and cholesterol as a result of eating the same meals as I do. He doesn't stick to SW completely either. He was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 3 years ago and his blood sugar number is now at the bottom of the range for it, so if he can reduce it by 1 more, he will no longer be classed as diabetic. He also has high cholesterol and has successfully lowered the numbers for that too, there is one number that needs to improve before they ease off on him.

I've fortunately escaped both diabetes and high cholesterol (so far) which I find totally amazing as I've been overweight all my life, but if following SW continues to prevent them I'll keep going with it for life.

Regarding buying prepackaged food, I tend to cook most things from scratch and supplement every meal with plenty of Speed food, and DH eats the same but with lots more free carbs so your DH doesn't have to be hungry if he can have a pile of SW chips or a plateful of pasta. If he doesn't need to lose weight he could double up on HEs so he isn't as restricted with bread, cereals and cheese.

Good luck with the birth, hope you have an easy and quick labour. You must be getting excited. :D.

Good to see you back psycho.:)

I can echo what lois says. My DH eats similar food to me although not following SW exactly and I think denise would say the same.

My DH has got his cholesterol right down and is convinced that's because of how he eats and I've also cut back massively on the amount of cheese he eats.

You've done really well to gain so little during pregnancy. It really is possible to do SW and cook quick and simple food like omelettes or jackets. You don't need to spend hours in the kitchen. If you have time I'd recommend cooking up a few ready meals for the freezer as a healthy standby. I choose to do mine in the slow cooker even when I'm at home (so I can just leave it and don't need to watch the hob). Bolognese and chilli are excellent to start with. Take a look at the menus the rest of us post. Although we mostly all cook from scratch the meals can still be simple.

    Good Luck.:)

Much later than usual today posting but been a bit busy.

Congratulations to your OH flutterby on his permanent job. At least you won't need to be worrying about whether his temp job will be coming to and end all the time.

Well done physcobabble on only putting on 20lb during your pregnancy - at least you'll have a huge loss the first WI after the birth! We had a lady this morning who had her baby last Saturday and lost 18.5lb today!!!! However he was a huge baby 9lb 10oz (rather her than me!).

WI this morning wasn't too bad with a gain of 3lb (5 weeks holiday since last WI).

Having an accidental Green day today:

    B - fruit - after WI
L - scrambled eggs on toast; salad leaves, tomatoes
D - mixed bean goulash & rice. Goulash has onions, garlic, tomatoes for Speed.

    HEA1: milk
HEB1: WM bread (2 slices crustless)
HEB2: not sure but may have some toast - may even use part HEA2 for some cheese depending how peckish I am this evening

    Syns: wine:D
