You're right lois . I think what's happened is that the weather's been so good I've not worn jeans for 3 months or so. Whereas they'd normally 'tell' me when I'd gained so going above target was a big shock for me.
Unfortunately the pub we went to had changed the menu in the three weeks since I was there last. I had steak and chips and masses of watercress. My friend hates anything healthy so I ate her watercress too. I think it's designed for minimal kitchen skills.
gfb there's no problem having blueberries, they're healthy even if they're not Speed. It's just that wiz finds it so hard to eat enough Speed that having them is a wasted Speed opportunity.0 -

morning all,
-0.5lb last night at weigh in - do we have one more week on this challenge??
lots of syns today but the last day like this then it's back on the speed wagon from tomorrow I'm on to draining cupboard and freezer supplies now so ready for a restock!
breakfast: coffee (milk from hea) bagel thin 6.5 syn as was running crazy late and not enough milk for cereal
lunch: left over spag bol 5syn
mid afternoon: it's Friday so I am having my carrot cake with our lovely finance manager. its about 20 syns but I work this in across my week
tea: chicken and rice with cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and lettuce
no heb planned at the moment
going to write my action plan for next week and may well send it to my consultant for a double check. I'm not going to carry my card or cash next week at work to save the snacks creeping in.
going to look at what fruit and veg are in season/on offer later to plan my speed.
OH has to go away for two nights next weekend so I am going to take full advantage and spend the Saturday batch cooking soups etc that he's not a fan of to stock up for at least 2/3 weeks worth of speedy meals for me. I'm thinking leek and potato soup, chile/syn free Bolognese (can then have my syn free one whilst he eats a jarred sauce - small syn saving but it's a saving) cottage pie but with a carrot and swede mash on mine, pumpkin/butternut squash soup. I also want to try making tomato and basil sauce to go with some fish
even 25lb to target now9 weeks until Christmas so I'm thinking; 2 lt water a day (plus tea/coffee/squash/free pop) better breakfasts (more filling/lasting) decent warm syn free lunches on work days (plenty of speed in and with) and then a balanced evening meal with around 10syns a day worked across meals/any snack and then minimum 1hr a week zumba (at home) plus one active hour a day (walking etc) should steer me in the right direction

Not sure what is going on. I posted a gain this week but when reweighed 36 hours later it was a loss. Not changing the numbers for this week and will see what happens on Sunday. Annoying though.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Good morning,
Not part of the challenge but getting into the habit of weighing again on a Friday - 1.5lbs off since Sunday! Pleased with that as I've been so poorly and jetlagged I haven't followed any kind of plan or consistent mealtimes.
Still a nit rough and have just got up so missed breakfast. Homemade soup for lunch, poss with toast, it's free but not got a lot of speed in. Maybe I'll have a carrot with it instead of toast. Then veg curry from the freezer for tea.
Happy Friday to all!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
:T good to see a loss tete.
Don't worry duchy, your loss should still be there at next WI.;)I think having WI at the same time under similar conditions each week is the best we can do to deal with the fluctuations.
If you have an Aldi nearby lush, they have butternut squash in their Super6 I believe. I've never tried it:o but people tell me it's great for soup. Aldi is about the cheapest for 5% mince too if you plan on making yourself Bolognese.
My favourite soup is lentil and vegetable (leeks, carrots and onions) and I love to make it with the stock from boiling a piece of gammon. I use frozen leeks from Farmfoods. I slice the gammon and freeze it in meal size portions. Again Aldi is about the cheapest for the gammon joints. I think I'll get one today as it's getting close to soup weather.:)
I've done my meal plan and shopping list for the coming week. I'm out to eat twice more but in between that inner angel will be taking over.:D
I've had my SW breakfast (2 boiled eggs and 0.5 HEB toast) but not 100% sure about the rest of the day until after my shop.
Back later:).0 -
Hi everyone, Maman you are so right about speed food but as you know I hate vegetables, I try, but I know it's not hard enough it has taken me 4 years to get a stone off but I have to enjoy what I eat because sometimes I feel as I don't want to eat. So, this today is my menu plan...

Dinner.. sausage B mash potatoes, mixed veg ( carrots green beans peas cauli corn ) gravy 2 Syns melon
Extra 2 Rivita 3 Syns vanilla light ice cream 3 Syns

we are spoilt and I have two aldis that I can easily get to - one on my route to work and one next to the ASDA I use for everything else. I must admit I usually get my dad to prepare butternut squashes for me but apparently it's easier if you roast them first so I think I might halve and deseed one, roast it with some red peppers then blitz with stock.
I've been thinking about trying that lean and bean mince from asda which seems a reasonable price. I must say a little pocket of cash for when musclefood next do 95p/400g mince (less than 5% fat) and take advantage of that and their lush chicken sausages etc.
does anyone know if baked oats can be prepared the night before/in advance and kept (in the fridge I presume) then reheated when they're wanted??************************************

You're absolutely right wiz. If following SW is going to be part of your lifestyle it has to be food you enjoy. My consultant doesn't eat vegetables at all (she says it's because of being made to when she was a child) and has managed all her weightloss with fruit. I know I nag youbut although things like blueberries and bananas are free and healthy I just see them as a missed opportunity for Speed!:rotfl:

I don't see any reason why not lush. It's not as if you've even cooked it the first time. I think with raw egg in there I would want to keep it chilled though.
I'd never heard of lean and bean so I looked it up. It is cheaper per kg up front but (if my maths is correct) it works out about £7.30 per kg for the 60% meat content compared with £5.98 per kg in Aldi and £6.25 in Asda. The best value in Asda is to buy a 750 pack then you could make other things too like chilli for jackets or savoury mince while you were doing your batch cooking:).0
