    Just echoing everyone else's comments:

Well done Matron Midge on getting to target, hope you all have good holidays Flutterby, Jodenise and Prudent and take the time for yourself TIE and try not to think about work (I know how difficult that is though)

Had a day off yesterday to take DH to the hospital for his ankle review and in the evening I made the best synfree lasagne of my life - used low low spread mixed with quark to thin it out a bit as the "white sauce" and it went down a treat. Definitely going to be making it again.

Back in the office today and trying to keep on plan as much as possible -

B - Massive tub of fresh pineapple chunks, strawberries
L - Mixed leaves, roasted peppers, cucumber, feta (HEA), cous cous (1.5 syns)
D - Salmon, broccoli, roasted butternut squash
    S - Popcorn (2.5 syns)

Hope everyone has a good day, back to my spreadsheets it is!

  • weigh in tonight - thankful as I have nothing vaguely speedy in that's not evening meal material now so I'm going to eat light and weigh tonight then will use heb/syns for brekkies and speedy chilli for lunch tomorrow/weekend and then stock up Monday!

    Today:
breakfast: free aldi yogurt plus 2 syn mocha
lunch: chicken noodle cupshotz (free) and a cup of homemade leek and potato soup
tea (at group after weighing): sizzle steaks with muchrooms, onion, tomatoes, peppers and carrot plus garlic and mushroom cous cous (0.5 syn) and a hard boiled egg plus a can of Fanta zero

I used to take my syns to group and sit and scoff through them however I am aware that that's actually a really unhealthy habit so now trying to take a meal and a smaller syn item :)

Not a happy bunny this morning! Been good all week and didn't even have all my syns this week and lost a measly 0.5lb:mad: Still need to stick to plan as still need to lose 2.5lb to get back into target range. It'll be a bit more difficult this week with a long weekend away but have to see what happens next week.

    Today's plan:

    B - fruit after WI - grapes & strawberries
L - bacon & chicken salad with fried up LO potatoes
D - burger in bun (HEB); salad

    HEA - milk
Syns - couple of glasses of wine 10 syns

Ruby eskimo thanks for the tip about the lasagne. Did you add flour to the sauce?

Joedenise how frustrating. I hope it is not too demotivating.

Thanks to everyone for their support. I have lost 2 1/2lbs this week bringing my total to 6LB in the three weeks I have been doing the plan. We had our Christmas taster session this morning and I came away very full and with lots of inspiration. My two favourite things were a carbonara and a very sweet Christmas tree made from fruit. I will have a google and see if I can find one online and will post the link if I do.

Nope, just the tub of low low (hoping that half is still a HEA...) and then probably half a tub of quark mixed in. It's still a bit thick to spread but does the job. I've also in the past heated the low low in a pan with some skimmed milk added to thin it down a bit (do this all the time for macaroni cheese) but didn't want any extra syns yesterday after having a flatbread at lunch!

Think I forgot to say that my HEB today is 2 alpen light bars. Meant to have the first one with breakfast but after all the pineapple I was pretty full. Only just managed to finish lunch so it will be a while again till I feel like I need a snack.

:T to prudent and denise on your losses.

That's a great idea for the fruit tree prudent. It would look super on a buffet.

I'm pleased, if not ecstatic, to announce that I lost 3 lbs. at WI!:j
I know how you must feel denise because I'd stuck to the plan religiously and I would have been gutted if I hadn't lost.

Maman I was in Home Bargains yesterday and they had the Alpen light at 19p. I am not sure if this is a good price for you or not as I never buy them.

If that's 19p per bar then 95p a pack is quite good. Generally discount places sell them at £1 which is the same price roughly as Aldi own brand. I like the Cherry Bakewell flavour but they don't have those often. I've been letting myself have one of those with a cuppa in the evening to keep me off the chocolate.

wiz, that's a good menu for today. I can't remember when you last had so much Speed.:T Raspberries are much better at breakfast than blueberries and no need to limit yourself to a small bowl of soup.

The consultant was telling us about recent training today. She didn't explain it too well but the gist was that SW aren't going to use the term flexisyn any more when talking to a group. I also got the impression that side by side they are going to encourage publically a lot more sensible choices for events like weddings and birthdays rather than flexisynning. It will only be used 1:1 with individuals.

I've never really come to terms with flexisynning anyway so no great loss. I think what really matters is if you've gone off plan that you get back on ASAP. Plus you have a choice of just taking the hit, saving syns or trying to rein back for the rest of the week. We know it's not always possible to make sensible SW choices especially if you're at someone else's home or at a venue and starving's not an option!:D

I'm out for a meal this evening. Not sure exactly where friends will choose but if it's the same as last time they did a good salmon with new potatoes. Will report back later.:)

    EE menu:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk
L: JP with cottage cheese, ham, spring onions, cornichons, pickled cabbage and beetroot
    D: tba
    Syns: probably too many;)
  • Hi all (just about able to type...had a second PT session at lunch and we did arms and chest today...trying to build up my triceps as it's pretty non existent on my gammy elbow arm - I'm really enjoying it so far...we did legs Tuesday and I can feel them all right lol)

One of the main things PT's do is encourage loads and loads of water (I'm going to need incontinence knickers lol)...I mean like 4 L a day...interesting to see how that affects weight loss or not this week - plus the introduction of weights...loads of walking too. I suspect there could be a delay in *weight* loss but I'm going to persevere anyway.

    Food:
B: porridge and blueberries HE a&b(not speed but I'm making up for it on the rest of the day...)
L: huge salad with chicken and a little low fat coleslaw
D: chicken stir fry - maybe noodles - will see
  • Food for today.

When I woke up at 4 (following first night shift.. On another tonight) I had weetabix, milk as hexa.
Sw tomato and basil soup before work.
    Subway salad tonight whilst work.
Carrot and cucumber sticks to munch on before I get a chance to go to subway.

Syns - quavers 4 and a half, small bag of Malteasers 5.

Hi all, didn't get to post this morning as I was having a lie-in :D

Still sticking to plan, I've successfully shut the devil voice up by reminding myself that I want to be at target by next September and I need to up my game to do that.

GFB - 4 litres! I'd be going to the loo every half an hour. :rotfl: Pleased to hear you're enjoying the physio, hope your elbow mends quickly.

Good decision Matron Midge - another target member on the roll of honour. :T

Well done Maman , that must have been quite a surprise as you were feeling fat before you went. Commiserations Denise, hopefully all your efforts this week will have an affect on the scales next week.

    Have a good evening everyone.
