    I've been Money Tipped!
then saw a large black shiny car pull up. With a tiny white haired man inside.

I thought 'oh no, here we go' and was braced for being asked to leave or asked to pay for his daughter's TV licence or something, but he never even got out of the car. He SHRANK into his chair, pulled out a book and made no eye contact. It was definitely daddy as I stopped at the end of the street to check and saw him move his car onto the drive.

    Ah. Right.

So the well known Napoleon complex strikes again.

    Now we understand. :rotfl:
  • Definitely the dad - we then texted further exchanging notes and it was the same car ..,

I not only took meter readings ... I photographed the meters. I also photographed every room from every angle plus every electrical outlet.

    Am I paranoid much?

Estate agent thinks there is likelihood of further complaints but confirmed she will direct any queries straight to my solicitor and won't pass on my new address.

I've done daughter dear a few favours today - I've got onto the utility companies and council tax and have confirmed her name and the fact that she took over responsibility today to them all. There can be no dispute then about who is paying for what. Lucky girl eh?

The clipboard is still killing me :rotfl:

Attagirl! Make the blighters pay out for a solicitor's letter for every nit-picking little grumble and perhaps it may eventually dawn on these cretins that the game isn't worth the candle.

Paranoid? You? If you say so...:A
  • The EA feels they're expecting a 'brand new' house and any minor issue will be a huge disappointment. We've been in the new house six hours and so far have discovered the toilet flush is broken so we've had a plumber out already, two windows don't shut, one door is off its hinges and two electrical sockets don't work.

Will we make this the vendor's problem? Nope. But I expect a far more minor list from Daddy Deranged.
  • Wow. Your experience made ours look easy (and we turned up to the previous owners still in the house because they thought we were moving in a few days later.... )

Glad you got all settled in! Hope your move was smooth and your new place is drama free!
  • Happy new home lichfield22 - I'm delighted it all worked out for you fgDtyW3Vi0bCz2miS9MQ.gif

I remember the first vividly as it was the first time I laughed since getting divorced. I even wrote to the poster to thank them for entertaining me.

Just the opening post of those has got me giggling ... Can't wait to get into them when we have our new broadband installed but suspect the 59 pages of the caravan thread might eat some moby data :rotfl:
