Regardless, I still see regulars here encouraging these "anonymous employees" to post further about the alleged working practices of this firm.
It has nothing to do with Consumer Rights and it's not even certain who these people really are and what their true agenda might be.
And who do you think reported the posts because they included personal information?
I certainly haven't encouraged the posters who claim to be employees, in fact I would say that the "regular posters" are treating them with a high level of scepticism.
It certainly wouldn't be the first thread on this board regarding a kitchen company where the owners repeatedly spammed it with misinformation and downright lies. I recall one that was based in a converted chapel - they were up half the night over several days creating new personas faster than the forum team could remove them.0 -

They were not taking orders they did not intend to fulfil at any point. If a company is going to fail there must be a single moment when things get on top of them and this happens, and this seems to have been Tuesday of last week.
What rubbish! Our kitchen was due for delivery weeks before this and was 'delayed' then never arrived early August.
We spoke to the administrators today, and they said there looked to be about three complete kitchens in the warehouse - they couldn't tell us whose, but you can bet none of them were ours.
Fairly confident on that as when we phoned to complain about our missing kitchen, the staff who went to the warehouse to have a look for it couldn't find it and 'had no idea' what could have happened to it. A whole kitchen. Not something you just lose down the back of the sofa.
You take money in April, you promise delivery in July, and you don't ever start manufacturing a kitchen or order the parts from suppliers, then you go bust in August. Sounds like purposeful wrongdoing to me.
I note that SOKemployee is quiet on the BACs issue - would be interested to hear the answer.
I disagree thatMoneyineptitude wrote: »It has nothing to do with Consumer Rights
Although you're absolutely right to point out thatMoneyineptitude wrote: »it's not even certain who these people really are and what their true agenda might be.0 -

You are quite new to this board.
There have been many threads over the years where the op claims to be the victim and later was exposed as the villain etc.
It's a little naive to think the regular posters can't establish whats going on, quite easily, even if you can't.
I agree a certain poster has gone very quiet on the subject of bacs, Minusonekitchen-I wonder why that is?0 -
... as didn't pay by credit card.
Did you pay by debit card? If so you may be able to make a chargeback.

I'll just repeat my earlier comments and leave you guys to it:Moneyineptitude wrote: »I regard both posts as inappropriate to a discussion forum about Consumer Rights. Customers of this failed company need advice about how they will get restitution, not a blow-by-blow account of where the owners allegedly went on holiday and/or who was sacked for apparent dishonesty.0 -
Moneyineptitude wrote: »While I may have misunderstood your earlier sarcasm towards one of the two posters claiming to be (ex) employees, I don't think I'm quite as "naive" as you imply. I haven't responded to either of those posters because I am suspicious of an agenda.

It actually doesn't matter if you, I or any other regular members believe a word that has been posted by the alleged former employees. We don't have thousands of pounds gone from our bank accounts with nothing to show for it. What's important is that those who have lost money are made aware that they shouldn't necessarily believe a word of what they're saying without taking a large dose of salt.0 -

That really is my last word on the subject.0 -
I suspect that payment made when placing the order would have been used to pay SOK's supplier companies for a previous order. The 12 week wait time was needed to ensure SOK built up enough orders with full payment for them to pay suppliers for the next kitchen. This is common practice for companies with poor cash-flow, instead of borrowing from their bank they 'borrow' from customers who make full payment when ordering.0

02/09/2016 received a call from LA Business Recovery requesting I attend SOK premises to remove my kitchen units identified as my order. An e-mailed photo from them showed an incomplete order. Turned up as requested on 05/09/2016 and yes discovered my units minus doors, drawers and internal fittings - I indicated to the Administrator these weren't of use to me and departed without removing them from SOK premises.
Whilst there I met about 6 other customers (also carcasses & nothing else) who'd ordered & paid via debit card or BACS - a desperate and very depressing state of affairs for them. For me almost an sense of guilt as I'd paid in June via credit card.
I was informed there were in excess of £300K of outstanding unfulfilled customer orders plus several other creditors! LA Business REcovery were called in by a finance company who'd been unable to fulfill SOK's application for re-financing hence SOK closure on 24/08/2016..
My own situation is now being resolved via John Lewis Financial Services Mastercard operated thru HSBC. It's being handled via a Chargeback process which if unresolved after 50 days means that they will recover via Mastercard's T&C's from the SOK's bank.
Not sure what else to post but feel incredibly fortunate that I select the right bit of plastic.
Finally I have been informed that between February & June (when I ordered the 2nd part of my kitchen) my inability to secure the Second Nature doors & drawers (supplied for the 1st part of the kitchen in January 2016) was due to "PWS (Second Nature kitchen distributor) withdrawing SOK credit facilities"0
