I think you meant to say 28th and not 29th here. Yes, from today calls made to the 08* numbers from O2 will be charged at 20p per minute. Not sure whether this applies to O2 Carphone warehouse contracts or no...
Doesn't mention anything anywhere on their website - unless I've missed it...:cool:0 -

Does NOT work on 3. I got a messsage when I tried that they will charge for calls to that number!:mad:QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -
I have used the number previously without been charged only to check my account a few minutes ago and alas, I have been charged extra outside of my inclusive flex 35 tmobile contract.
Tmobile is a bunch of ****0 -
Goign to use this number as I have unlimited o2 mins for weekends. If it works then hurrah!
I just got a text from TOPUPNOW and they say if I top up £5 with them, they will charge 1p per minute for my calls, I have to dial a 0161 number.
I directly called that number without topping up and made a call to Bangladesh but no one picked up on the other ends, may be sleeping or maybe I need to top-up. Is it worth it?

Registered Oct 2007, what's your O2 employee ID? :beer:0 -
Anyone used the number 07978 555 555
Im on the best for business plan, unlimited off peak minutes and was wondering of using this. Best way is probably testing it out myself.
I asked o2 and they say call the actual company up when they are the ones who should know! DUR!0 -

If you receive your bill directly from O2 you are more than likely to be charged for this call. I tried with my direct O2 contract upgraded a month ago and I was charged for this call, although I will find out the exact details in the next 2-3 days when the bill is issued.
If you receive your O2 bill from Carphonewarehouse, then you are more than likely to be NOT charged for this call, as I happened to find out. Again, the exact details will only be known in my next bill...
Suggest you try a quick 2 minutes call and then check your online billing for Unbilled calls. If with O2 CPW, you can make a note of your last remaining minutes and keep track of all calls that you make and see if the remaning minutes are reduced with the duration of all calls made...:beer:0 -
This number is charged on vodafone and 3. On Virgin it was working for couple of days last week, but now this number would't dial. On O2 with carphonewrehouse made a call today, we will find in couple of days if it is charged?0

I guess instead of getting into arguments with customers regarding why have these numbers been charged, O2 must have decided to block calls to these numbers...
Anybody else faced the same problems?
If these numbers are blocked, are the networks actually allowed to do so?0
