Noise nuisance from the neighbour

OP, assuming for the moment that is thread is genuine, I agree with previous posters that ou do not have a legitimate cause for a complaint.
As with many things in life, and in law, a factor to consider in thinking about noise nad nuisance is 'reasonableness' - it is not the case that a neighbout making a noise is always going to qualify as a nuisance. 'Quiet enjoyment' of your own property does not relate solely to noise, not does it entitle you to silence. It is more to do with 'peaceful enjoyment' - about your neighbours not interfereing with you, and vice versa.
1 hour of bouncing balls per day is unliekly to be considered unreasonle, in the legal sense. It is not excessive in terms ot the amount of noise generated, nor the length of time it goes on for, nor is it unreasonably late at night or early in the morning.
It is very unfortunate that it is a noise which you personally find particularly irritating but it is not inherently unreasonable.
It's a shame that you have already alientaed the neighbours. You might have been bale t o agree a compromise with them if you had approached them in a more concilatory way, for intnace asking whether they would be willing to linit the number of days they spend playing, or whether there was another area, a little fortuher from your home, where they could play.
As it is, I agree with the suggestion of trying white noise - there are various free apps available so you can dowload one and see whether it works for you, before investing in a proper white noise machine.
While it is so hot, you may find it is both cooler and quieter if you close the windows and (if you wish) invest in a small fan.
As a previousposter has said, with the nights drawing in the issue will probably resolve anyway, and if you are lucky, by next year you may be able to start fresh with the neighbours and see whether you can reach a compromise. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Don't forget you'll likely need to raise this as a dispute if you ever sell so therefore potentially lowering the value of one of your 10 houses.
Sell them all and buy somewhere with its own land (Alaska maybe).0 -
I would like to complain about our neighbour who are playing basket ball games every evening from 7:00pm till 8:00pm
It is the noise of the ball banging on the floor which is giving me migraine
I tried to close the doors and windows in hot summer season but the noise is constantly causing vibration to our new built property.
Yesterday after three weeks of suffering due to this noise I went and told the neighbour who has been playing, but they told me it is their property and they will continue playing. They also told me that call
The police as they are not scared of the law and order.
This ball game is played by adults
it is affecting our peace and health.
We are not able to enjoy our house environment as have to close all the doors and windows due to this noise
please could someone from the MSE forum advise me what to do about this noise
I am also going to inform the council
Oh behave....0
