Are you planning AI? Does your £1100 each include flights costs?
We love Barbados but there are only 2 adult only hotels I know of, Sandals and The Club resort. We had 10 days at The Club, it was nice & chilled but not fantastic but in a great location. We haven't stayed at Sandals on Barbados but before it was Sandals, it was an Almond resort and we stayed there, also in a great location.
We've also stayed at Sandals in St.Lucia and Antigua, both fabulous but not cheap, may well be out of budget but there is a Sandals sale on with up to 55% off! not sure when it runs out.0 -
Mexico & Dom rep are a little cheaper than the rest, so you might be able to come in on budget there.0

Have a look at Caribbean Warehouse / Blue Bay Travel.
They normally have some excellent deals for the Caribbean.
You can sign up for their newsletter for ideas, inspiration and offers.

Parts of Europe are still superb in September, I wouldn't bother with the Jetlag.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

We have a house in Grenada and don't get jet lag when visiting several times a year.....you get a bit tired and end up getting up early a few mornings on the trot but you soon fall into the very relaxed way of life.
As for the OP. You do realise weather won't be at it's best in September/October? It's "hurricane season" so expect some (more) rain and the odd storm.
If you want cheaper than norm, try Dom Republic, Cuba, Mexico or even Jamaica. The "better islands" will be cheaper than normal at that time but good hotels are never too cheap. Booking direct may bring you a good price at that time of year.0 -

Your first paragraph speaks of how we've felt when we've been to the Caribbean! For the first 2/3 days, we struggle to stay up past 9pm then I'm up by 6am, that's jet lag & time difference kicking in!
Barbados is off the hurricane belt whereas Jamaica, Mexico & Dom Rep have been affected by hurricanes in September/October. We've been to St Lucia in September and Antigua in October and had 90% dry weather.
OP is there any reason why you're looking at September/October for your anniversary holiday & not August? It's our 30th anniversary in early September next year & we're considering our options, possibly Barbados as we are totally love it there.0
