    Many years ago, I read a magazine article (I think it was in the New Scientist, but I haven't managed to trace it) where a study had been done as to how satisfied people were with the cars they bought.

    It turned out that the most satisfied people were the ones who bought the car they really wanted.

    You could devise some elaborate point scoring system looking at boot size, fuel economy, depreciation and so on. But whatever you ended up buying would always be a compromise.

    But if you buy the car you really want, then you're always going to be driving around in the car that you wanted to have.
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    A1 are a lot of driving school's cars.
    Different drivers and driving styles are actually a benefit to running in a motor not single consistent drivers as you suggest.
