Hi Guys
We used to have a cat which never came back and I have previously had cats when younger, we recently got two kittens and each day I am going home I get a terrible headache, tight feeling in chest and feel like there is no air, sore through at night and unsure if this maybe due to the kittens? feels a bit like the flu but I don't get a blocked nose/sick and its only at home, if I am at work or yesterday we spent the day at the zoo and I am fine where surely if this was a bug/cold I would feel it during the day still.
My previous cat used to be out all day and come in after we got in from work where these two are stuck in all day and there is two. we put them in shallow bath water and washed them a little which they were on and no difference.
I was wondering if it could be the aircon at work but then it was the same this weekend when I am not in work.

I know of two people allergic to cats, one my nephew, they both get identical symptoms. Eyes watering and itchy, nose running and blocked. Nothing else. I work in healthcare and your symptoms don't really sound like allergies. Sound more stressed related. BUT I am not a Dr so I would say go see a Dr or ask a Pharmacist for advice.0

Why do you post pet questions in the wrong part of the forum?0 -
they are doing great thanks, yes that evening she was back to pooing hard and twice a day so was great, booked them in to have injections next week but now was worried about this, it sounds like a virus bug to me but was strange how it was when I was out the flat, I have been doing a few extra hours at work but wouldn't say stressfull.0

If there is any suspicion that you have cat allergies then for your sake please get rid of them.
Your doc or nurse can test easily, don't ignore the advice from thereon.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
thanks, I will try book in with the doctor, I have got some flu tablets and cough medicine to try, hoping its more that than cats0

How long ago did you get the kittens?
If it wasn't very long, it's possible that they had been treated with some form of flea treatment shortly before you collected them and it is that that is causing your problems.0 -

No they can't, every cats dander is different, so the GP would need to refer OP, the specialist would need to collect the kittens dander and use that to determine an allergy.
I'm allergic to my dog and cat, it really isn't an issue, just pop an anti-histamine in the moulting season as more dander gets out.0 -
Headache - Doesn't sound like a cat allergy to me either, if no red eyes and runny nose. Could someone take the cats for a couple of days to see if it makes a difference?0
