Yesterday was not good at all, 1.5:4.

I felt like I spent the whole day eating, which in truth I did - starting with my Achilles heel - Weetabix - at 3am. From there I just kept going, which is really unusual for me! I got to the point of "sod-it" by lunchtime, and had a stack of bread too, totally ignoring my carrot and celery batons. Finished the day with another dose of Weetabix! It yet again proves to me that I can't be trusted around carbs.

I feel much better today, but decided to have breakfast this morning - 2 nectarines and a kiwi fruit that have taken a while to ripen. I'll revisit the carrot and celery in the fridge later.

    I feel like quitting!

The last 4 days have been bloating hell for me, I'm in huge amounts of pain which I put down to eating too much in an effort to eat more fruit and veg. I shouldn't constantly be thinking about what I need to eat, and then how much my stomach hurts!

    Eta: 0:4 for me today.

Apparently it's normal for the first few weeks of eating more fruit and veg , I had the same so I checked it out , it should settle down , peppermint help break down any gas bubbles into smaller bubbles , hang in there and remember any change takes time to become the normal , and even 1 serving is better than none x

It might have to be just the one serving! Although in all honesty I have eaten a lot of bread and Weetabix too :o

I'll just have to ditch the carbs and concentrate on th f&v. Bin day today so nows the time to do it!

Your gut bacteria need to adapt to the new diet, so you should be increasing the fruit and veg gradually. Cutting out 'brown' carbs may also help, but any sudden change is likely to cause problems.
  • Morning,

Just started reading through the thread but skipped here to post (I will go back and finish tho!)
    Yesterday i managed 8 portions:
Breakfast: Half an avocado with eggs 1
Snack: An apple and a carrot 2
Lunch: Mackerel with Boodles (butternut squash noodles) and cherry tomatoes 2
Snack: Cucumber sticks with hummous 1
Dinner: Chicken with spring greens and broccoli 2

I follow a clean eating diet so make up my carbs with vegetables rather than breads etc unless post workout.
Sorry if it has already been said but there some suprising foods that count towards your 5 a day, such as sweet potato, half a 400g can of baked beans and 1 heaped tbsp of tomato puree - just watch your sugar intake with the last 2.

Will report back later with todays count.
    Such an interesting thread!xx
