Apparently m-i-l fell off her horse, broke both wrists, was unconcious, and has concussion. As she has been on the phone to DH twice since it happened and has not seen fit to mention it, I will therefore continue on, as it is attention seeking behaviour.
Why mention it to me, two weeks after the fact, apart from she is looking to muscle in on October half term. Medically she cannot drive, and therefore cannot escape from f-i-l, who is never deemed 'caring' enough. Also she cannot ride her horse, so is probably bored. I am not falling for this BS.
Just rang DH who knew nothing about the accident and is baffled why she would tell me and not him. And now we shall draw a veil over that particular pile of horse manure. (Gaslighting)
Bought another cube unit, this time from the c/s. £30, saved £15 on the cost new, and did not have to put it together. DS3 needs one more and his room is finished. Sadly it is not in the budget for this week.
£200 would finish the top floor bedrooms. I do not have £ 200. That is very annoying.
I should get the credit card bill next week, and then pay that off with the ChB which comes in on the 17th.
I have food in the house, and petrol in the car. Apart from the odd loaf or pint of milk, I should not need much more, but I cannot get an extra £200 out of the budget. I might put it back on the cc. once I have cleared it, and pay it off on payday. I am not enjoying being poor - well, pretending to be poor whie I am overpaying - but it is not long left until I reach my target. And then I will have lots more money to play with a month once these little smallish spends are out of the way. I mean you don't need to pay out for a new bed base every month, or even every year.
It is just all at once because I have chosen to do it all at once so I get to say loud and proud - I have finished the top floor!!! I want it done before October begins.
October will be when I attack the middle floor, which should be a £400ish spend and job done.
So I am making plans!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Bah! she does not need the calories (her favourite phrase - with a spoon in hand).
I am tired of the kids (one per mealtime on average) turning up their noses at my offerings. So tonight I bought 2 g00dfellows vegan pizzas and cooked them chips...in a pot.... on the stove. ...like the 1970s kids had.
The pizzas were actually pretty vile.
Everyone agreed my food is better, and they have requested that I never feed them prebought pizza ever again. So the threat of dog and chips has been shelved.
They ended up eating chip butties.
£5 wasted on 2 pizzas, but I think they have got the message.
My poor maligned food! I could understand it if was bad, but it isn't!! They just want to be hurtful. Now at least I have a threat in my arsenal (bet that does not get through the rude word alert! ars - en -al

You forgot it's a football team so will always get through! Excellent threat by the way.
I am not convinced (as a Spurs fan) about the validity of this statement.

Well after blowing the budget for the week, and having £6.30 left in my purse, and 2.45 of the budget left until Friday, I went to Mr Ms to post the postal survey item, and buy - a requested by DH - pack of vege mince (£1.50).
When I got there, the mugs were reduced to 50p, so ended up with 3 of them, and the candles were down to 38p, so I bought them all. £6.80 (had to put 50p on the card).
But (I like big buts:rotfl:) I have now sorted all 6 teacher gifts for Christmas for less than £2.50 and I have the wrapping paper already.
Plus all the excess candles.
Now the budget for the rest of the week is £1.99,
DH is leaving for the weekend on Friday morning.
I have everything I need for lunchboxes for the rest of the week. All food for the rest of the week.
Made a dr appointment for DS2 - he is complaining about his ankles hurting, He is horribly flat footed but has always said he is fine, so I have not pressed the issue. Now he is complaining, so I am taking action. He has never been to the Dr since we moved to Leicester, which was 3 years ago this August.
We do not cost the NHS much.:D So appt booked for after school a week on Friday. I have a feeling he was angling for the day off school. Not happening!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Just had a text from DS2s school to say they overcharged me for the school trip last term and there is a £5 note waiting for me at reception.
Serendipitous or what? Also have a £5 M&S voucher and a £2 M&S voucher. Annoyingly another £5 off voucher has expired. I don't go into town much really, where M&S is and the kids never want to go in there. But it is birthday season, and somehow Colin the Caterpillar sweets have become synonymous with birthday cake decorations
Made DS4s next orthodontist appt, and was surprised when they said November.
The year is turning quickly now. It has rained all morning, and the curtains are drawn by 7.30. It will not be long until I am getting up in the dark (which I love btw), cross country stood in a field will not be fun though. Especially the November 8th one. They may be running with head torches!
So, I need a few fluffy throws for the ends of the sofas. I have all I need to make new cushions to go on the sofas, except motivation. If I make the cushions, then I get rid of a whole cardboard box of stuff, so I need to get on with that.
I need to start prepping for winter.
I do not think I can afford to get the living room fire sorted for this year....
I need to get a couple of quotes.
It would be fab to have a real fire.
I will work on this.........4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well I couldn't leave behind decent (drinking glass) sized smelly candles in a glass for 38p each could I?
I often burn candles if I only want to take the edge off one room. It is surprising how much heat they throw off. Plus I still have most of the red and gold taper ones W1lko sold off for 2 for 10p after last Christmas. And, all the ones I got for my birthday.
Went and bled all the radiators this afternoon, funny how some get airy and others don't.
DH is cooking supper tonight as he is feeling guilty about going away for his weekend in a field. I am defrosting those puff pastry squares I got from HER0N to do the kids cornish pasties for their lunchboxes tomorrow and Thursday. So easy when you dont have the faff with the rolling out! Plus they were ridiculously cheap and they are all the same size so no arguements.
Picked up my shiny £5 note. DS2 was adamant they had all been given the extra £5 by their teachers when they were on camp and told to spend it on sweets!!! Surprisingly he had left that bit out.
Anyway, I have it in my grasp now, and it will fill any gaps that appear before the budget resets on Friday.
Still have not put the screenwash in the car yet.
Really looking forward to DH going away so I can get on with some little finishing off painty jobs without anyone complaining about the smell and the mess.
There is a jobs fair on tomorrow that I am considering dropping in to. At least to see what is available. I have to remember DS3 is in his last year in primary, and DS4 is 9 in December. DS1 is 16 next month. I need to stop thinking of them as my babies, and start seeing them as the young men that they need to turn in to.
Plus any extra cash gets me an open fire, and a shower cubicle, not necessarily in that order.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
