In anticipation of the wheels falling off / me falling over, I have baked 8 big fruit scones, a chocolate cake, a tray of flapjacks, and a loaf of walnut soda bread. The boys will not starve if I take to my bed.So far I am camped out in the living room. I have a couple of books, and the radio. I will steal the ironing board and all the ironing and will vanquish that after lunch. After my morning baking spree I wiped down all the worktops and did the washing up in ridiculously hot water, I will stick a pot of dahl on after lunchtime, and then they can take care of themselves. Even if it is just bread, cheese and salad. I don't honestly care.Covid still has the nasty headache, and the snotty nose, and the ouchy cough, and the kidney soreness. I had forgotten about the kidney pain. How soon we forget!DS3 still has physics GCSE on Friday - I cancelled my paid work on Friday (boo!) so we can have a takeaway or something to celebrate end of exams, and start of football. I won't be negative by the time DH comes home. He won't care, he is just desperate to see us all again. He has started packing already.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

That driver sounds well dodgy. I take it DS4 didn’t manage to catch the registration?Glad he battled through it though.Hugs for the Covid. Mr had kidney pain with his recent dose of Covid. A hot water bottle does help a bit.Well done for all the baking! I hope it is appreciated!! 😉

KajiKita said:That all sounds like a lot of work! Perhaps ask for a battery driver for Christmas? All that screwing 😉 sounds painful!Congratulations on your puddle of calm …. May it gradually grow and extend …. 🌞😊Awesome news about your Brazillian friend 😊🎉👏🥳 Perhaps mention it a lot and all the things he gets to do as a result - independent living, girlfriend, holidays etc etc etc in front of certain others … 😉

glad DS4 is ok
hope the Covid goes quickly … your bug tales sound exhausting!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

DS1 has an interview with DirectSports tomorrow. I think this is because DH will be home this weekend and he knows how lazy he is being. It is for 4 hours x 4 days a week , but there are always extra earning opportunities in a job like that. He doesn't want to end up on the end of a DH rant. Hopefully the penny has dropped.

well done DS. Not long til DH gets home and can share the load (or at least not add to it).
Not being alarmist (I hope) but these late variant COVIDs do leave you short of energy for longer than earlier - so be kind to yourself and only do the work of 2 women not the usual 3I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine3
