Apparently my father died two weeks ago. Thank goodness, I thought I was going to be asked for a kidney!  I am sorry for her loss, and sent condolences, but they were not good parents, and I am better off without.

In other news, re-caulked four windows, repainted another wall white, and I think one more coat of gloss will do the window sill and door, and then I am ready for carpet and for DS1 to move in.   Room complete of diy and just needs his stuff moving in.

Stripped the wallpaper off DS4s bedroom walls.   Put some stuff away.  Feeling really positive I am getting there.

So sorry.  I had assumed (making an !!!!!! of me in this case) that because of your contact with the stepGM that they were both no longer with us.  I have found that this can actually make the situation harder to face because you are conflicted.   Along the lines of don't want to care but find you do.  I hope you get any support you find you need.

It is fine.  She approached DH via his work email rather than try and contact me, which says a lot.  No contact for many years, many house moves, and a name change, but still contacts him as my husband, someone she has never met.  Grrr. They have not changed - well,  obviously he has changed status.   Anyway, it does not matter, and I don't have to donate an  organ, so all good.  Condolences and all that, but it is so far removed it is irrelevant. They have been dead for many years.  I hope all your families are lovely, and I am glad for you, but mine were not, and never will be. The End. 

I am back glossing woodwork, which is the devil's job.  

Wallpapering is next on the schedule. Which is fine once the first one is up, but the first one is nerve-wracking.  

 I think the moral of the story is to get on with the first one, because then it is fine.
