Don't wish that on me!  The 6.45 ticking is the heating coming on, the one in the middle of the night however... might be the heating cooling, or be DS1s feet tapping on his computer chair, or him rocking on his computer chair.  It will become evident when he shifts rooms.  I am going to treat my bedroom with wood wormer anyway, which apparently also kill DWB. 

Most of the reason I am taking the skirting back to wood  on the top landing is to check for holes, (none so far)and then I will gloss it, because gloss also kills the WW. same as varnish does. 

I have found a community paint recycling scheme about half an hour away, it advertises it does F&B at £1 a litre ..... well at that price, colour me F&B! 

The wallpaper I bought dirt cheap and DH rejected the first year we moved in, and which got stuck in a box and lost under the stairs, has today been declared perfect for the wall I bought it for in the first place (bl00dy man!!).  6 flippin' years later he gets with the plan! So that is a no further expense fix, because I already have it.

Not feeling clever at all.  They should all get Barbie pink walls and Unicorn glitter ceilings, lazy swines.

Or at least decorate based on your choices, not theirs.

DH stood half way up the stairs today, looked up, and said 'Well done, it looks really good up here', which is a huge compliment from the man who did not think it was necessary.  It is all coming together.   I have about another hour and a half of stripping and then I can move on to the balustrades and bannisters - which is a job best done without kids around.  Still no sign of 'worm on the top floor.

Knocked up a pear and walnut sponge, and a walnut and dark chocolate sponge with odds and sods from the pantry to make lunch boxes a little more interesting.

The plasterer is upstairs plastering .  As expected he was half an hour early, so I only did 45 minutes volunteering this morning, and raced back just in case he was early.  Which of course he was.  I was in the house for maybe 5 minutes when the door went.     

Which means... the scaffold can come down, so messaged Mr Builder to ask if he has told the scaffolders yet (or is that my job? because he took over the scaffold from the roofers) -  I assume the roofers paid for it to go up and down and weekly hire until 15th November, then the builders modified it, and will pay weekly hire until this week, but no doubt the scaffolders will chance it and try and get a bonus.

Anyway, only little tiddly bits left to do now.

Just did another stint of stripping, definitely will be on the bannisters tomorrow (look mum, no hands!)

I have decided that I am going to dedicate the next 48 hours to finishing things off.  I have started so many jobs, and done 3/4s of them, and then flitted on to the next thing.  So did the triangle wall in navy today

and painted all the white again. It looks good, although I made a total mess of the skirting board - that will get painted tomorrow. I am aiming to be able to get the carpet in by next weekend, and DS1 moved in.

The wallpaper has arrived for DS4, so that will be done tomorrow, and I have all the paint needed, so that can get done. In a moment of total madness this morning I painted the top landing and the ceiling in the hall. It looks really good now. I needed to parcel tape a brush to the end of a broom handle for the cutting in bits, but still, it is done now and off the list.

Made DS3 his birthday cake this morning

then promptly stuck my thumb in the side  icing putting it onto the plate They are all so stuffed full from their takeaway posh-burger-meal that they can't eat it and it will become breakfast tomorrow.  A young man is not 16 every day. 

Won £300 on the PBs for February, so I am up to 4%interest-equivalent with a month to go. Dr F-H won £100 so he is now on 10% interest-equivalent because he is just an attention seeker and too competitive by half.

Did the meter readings, I am currently £625 in credit, but not paid for last month yet.

I have a list made, I just need to work my way through it.
