Hello fellow fox person! 

I have finally finished... all of your diary? Clearly I have nothing better to do at work, oops. It has been greatly entertaining and given me some ideas, and cheered me up no end. So thank you for that. I will now hopefully be so up to date as to start commenting on things in real time. It is weird how fast your DS' seem to have grown up, but then I suppose that will happen when you read 8 years of actual life in a fortnight.

I hope you manage to catch Emma - and that she does not have little Emma's with her!

Hey there @foxandflowers nice to meet you.  Woah! your work must be proper boring!

Today I have done two good turns.  DH left his EyePad at home, so drove it up the road to avert (very minor) disaster - he has everything of his fingerprint passcoded, so I could not even tell him what he needed to know. 

Then, stopped the ridiculous hammer-monkeys next door from setting the house on fire -  I was in the kitchen doing laundry, and smelled burning plastic, was a bit worried about the dryer, but thought I would check out the back door first before stopping the cycle (it throws a wobbly if you stop it before time), thick smoke abound, looked up, smoke from next door chimney, smoke through the slates on the roof, smoke coming out the holes in the windows, smoke coming out of the ground floor kitchen, flippin smoke everywhere, so I ran  upstairs to check my chimney, it was smoky but no warmth on the chimney stacks, so ran next door banged on the door until they stopped faffing about, and he had the nerve to say yes he was having a fire, it was fine, the smoke was from the chimney.   I actually had to convince the idiot to go and have a look, whereupon he just stood and  looked confused at all the smoke.   Next door's fire alarms started going off (guess it made its way through the limited loft space - it has been breeze blocked up, but it is not airtight), so I went to explain  to them what was going on, on their front doorstep - 'That F-ing Idiot there' might have been said by me a few times,  he just stood and said ' I have stopped burning now', like he wanted a medal... Just as the fire alarms started up again.   He was not coming anywhere near me, he looked a bit scared.  I do not care.  You do not just start a fire  and walk away from it in an untested Victorian fireplace!!!    God alone knows what would have happened if I was not in, he was in the ground floor front room hacking plaster off the wall,  being oblivious.   

So I have left a message with building control.  He should count himself lucky he did not  end up with 9 burly firemen telling him he is is an F-ing idiot.    Best to get them checked out before they try and do the electrics

The chimney fire on the next road that they could not stop for 36 hours is still too much of a  recent memory. The road was closed off for 2 days and they had a cherry picker pouring water down it the whole time.   That house is going up for auction this week.  It still does not have ceilings, the water caused so much damage they all came down and nobody cared enough to  even put them back before sale. Guide price £115k !! for a derelict terraced  two up, two down. 

The flippin' stress of it all!! Argh!  I am literally surrounded by F-ing idiots.... and my house smells of smoke... and DS1 could have been burnt in his bed...... Grrrr!

Love Emma for your rat.  If you wish to change around next time (hopefully not though) it could be Daniel (Ratcliffe)

I agree a poll would be fun - but we all know that Roland would win - with Ratty McRatface coming a close second

Sadly I am Roland-intolerant, so Ratovan Karadzic will have to come after Emma and Daniel, although I thank you for your suggestions.

Kids off school on strike today - personally I think they should be on the picket line with their teachers, however there is no picket line, so they would just be stood at the school gates loitering around.

Budgets set and money shunted around the place.   I keep getting email notifications from C0ventry BS about my account.  I have done a search on my lost bank accounts, and they say I do not have one with them, but yesterday they sent me a message that my X account is being changed to a XX account - so surely there must be one? Will have to pop in with my ID next time I am in town and make them search for it.  It is just they have a 4% ISA for people with a savings account with them, and I quite need to shunt £20k sideways and tax free for a while.

What an absolute toolbag next door. So fortunate you were in - and how on earth did he not have a clue about the house smoking like Pat Butcher.  Only positive might be Emma might have been smoked out and decide to up sticks and move somewhere further away from such morons.

Today was a spendy kind of day.  I have never had a long birth certificate, only ever had one copy of a little a5 style one, so today I ordered two copies of a long birth cert with my parents names on it, their marriage certificate, a copy of my mother's birth certificate, and a copy of my grandfather's birth certificate.  Not much change from £70.  It is an investment in my future.  What I thought was my grandfather's birth certificate that step-gran gave me before she died, was in fact my great-grandfather's birth certificate - they all had the same names for 4 generations -  I just believed her when she gave it to me.  Nope!

I am going to register myself as being born to an Irish national outside of Ireland, and when they arrive, go for dual citizenship, and then get the same for my kids.

This government is such a shocking disaster, and that frog-faced-moron Nigel was on the TV again this morning, I wonder what it is about having a non-white PM that has made Old Nige feel the Conservatives are not doing a stand-up job over Brexxy anymore????   Get back in your box Nigel.....No! sit down, you have said enough already. Grrrrr! Not the  best way to start your morning.    Anyway, it is taking 2 - 3 years at the minute to get citizenship, so by the time DS3 is ready to leave school, he will be able to go and live and work where he likes in Europe. 

Made a big batch of pastry, and used up some left over bolognese sauce with added peppers, chillis and olives as a pie, and then used up some leftover boiled potatoes with cheese and thinly sliced onion in a cheese and onion pie. It is good hot and cold! Not that there was much left to go cold.  Had a little bit of pastry left over, so made a spotted stru-!!!!!! with 3 sad apples and some raisins and cinnamon.  It was very lovely, and the oven was on anyway cooking the pies.
