If the local foodbank won't have them Beauty Banks will take new packs of razorblades, they have bins in some branches of Superdrug https://www.beautybanks.org.uk/donate4

Aaaah retail. I did 10 years in various employers and occasionally I think I miss it. Then I remember that I really don't. I'd go back if I had to (if I lost my job and needed something to tide me over), but otherwise I like to think those days are behind me.
And yes, staying late to tidy up afterwards was always my bugbear. After a day of dealing with people all you want to do is go home, eat dinner, and collapse in bed, but no you need to stay an extra 30 minutes to "make sure everything is facing the right way on the shelves". Sod the damn shelves."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

It was actually a bit better last night. The manager asked every 2 hours or so for the returns cupboards behind the tills to be emptied so it was not all to be done after the store closes in a mad rush. I think that they could get away with it if it is 18 yr olds being expected to stay over their hours, and it is totally different if you are asked ' could anyone stay an extra 15 minutes ' and therefore giving you the option to say no, but just to be expected to stay is not on. If the permanent staff have drunk the company kool-aid and get extra credit for it and first pick of the holiday dates then that is up to them what they are willing to do over and above, but I am a bolshy radical. A temporary bolshy radical, but one none the less. Not quite a Wolfy Smith, but getting there.
Plus they had one of those company-wide no notice spot checks in store this week, and they did well, actually they did much better than they expected. I don't mind making them look good, but I will not be taken for granted.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Went back to the f/b today after a month long absence. Apparently I have been missed! Well, they have not managed to replace me, anyway. Is that the same thing?
. Anyway, got up at 6, baked the kids lunchbox nonsense, had 2 lovely cups of coffee, and woke any/all kids who were not yet awake, and off they went to school.
I had my car already loaded (for the last week!!) so drove to the tip, did all my recycling, posted my spy post, and went to Mr T's Shopping Emporium of Foods, where nothing Xmassy tickled my fancy, and there were no good y/s bargains to be had, but it was blindingly obvious that the pensioners have had their Winter Fuel Allowance bung off the government, as they were ALL in the spirits aisle. Every last one of them. They are going to keep warm through the power of Brandy, Whisky, and Rum! Honestly, it was rammed with small old people who could not reach the top shelf. They all turned as one, like in The Children of the Damned, to assess my majestic 5'5" height, and so I turned my butt around and did not go down that aisle. I can live without it until December. There is a bottle of Nosecco in the fridge if I get desperate. A narrow escape methinks.I could have woken up in a pastry case, if I had gone down there.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
