My blood does not sink in their blue water containers, so I always have to have it on a slide in their machine, and it is fine, and they don't understand why it does not sink. Good veins, disobedient blood I guess.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Still not been paid! Now I am wondering if I will be paid this year or next (they better get a move on for this year) or whether DS1s next slice of grant allocation will be in his bank account before my wages (4th Jan).Went out early and did some food shopping. Filled the car with fuel. All the boring stuff.DH now has an 3tsy shop and has sold a few bits already. He is loving doing art again. Who even knew Her0n's baking parchment is perfect as 10m of tracing paper and much cheaper too? Well, me, now... and you.DS3 is going for his 2nd jab tomorrow at the walk in clinic for 12+ year olds. He needs it before he goes back into the plague pit or he will just bring it all back into the house again. What did you get in December? A sore arm! say all 4 of my kids.Tomorrow is the last volunteering session of the year. I get a whole week off because of the bank holidays at NY.So now I am in limbo again, until money comes in (pay / child benefit / housekeeping/ train refunds) and money goes out ( bills, mortgage o/p / car insurance/ Aut0Aid/)Annoyingly DS3 needs more school shoes - his feet have grown. DS2 is refusing to leave the house to go clothes shopping.6 days of holidays left.

We used to use Izal toilet paper when we were kids - as tracing paper that is. Hope you get paid very soon, they don't seem to see it as being at all important do they? Perhaps someone should remind them that a labourer is worthy of their hire.

I'm so annoyed for you that they haven't paid you yet. That's really poor on their part.
I have had to buy school shoes for ds this holiday as well - first time ever I've needed new school shoes this soon. His feet have grown, and he's bought the same shoes again just in the next size up.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

I got paid this morning! I must admit to getting up out of my bed at 25 past midnight to check, and doing a little dance in the living room as the child benefit and DH's generous housekeeping payment went in as well (which he insists I keep all of even if I am earning) . My state paid NI contribution stops tomorrow. I have one week of work lined up with this outfit in January, which starts on 16th, as long as the venue does not get shut down due to 'numbers' - it is 5 minutes from my house, it is clean, dry, warm conditions with access to a kettle so no lunch costs as I have ys cup soups and ys hot choc powder to keep me going. There is a job fair on 14th January I am going to, and hopefully that will lead to something. I am determined to make some money. Yes, they were rubbish and screwed up payroll. What was odd was that they paid me £150 after realising they had not paid me, and then I had to wait another month to get the rest of it. But, in the end I got paid. Glad I was not a student who was counting on that money though.I have shunted money around, bills go out on 4th due to all the BHs, I have managed to shuffle another £1k off to savings today so I will end the year with £21k in the kitty for the house renovation fund. Nothing was done house-wise this year, although I do now have a couple of builders/roofers that I will never waste my time on again. The potential earnings in January will pay for a Feb Half Term couple of days trip down to DS1, tons of museums, a few lunches.DH has his teaching schedule for next term. Due to a hire freeze he does not have a teaching assistant. He is stressed already.I found out that 2 of the people I was working with yesterday had had at least one of their Christmas lunch guests test positive within 24 hours of eating with them. Neither of them was wearing a mask, so I am back on the LFTs for breakfast for a few days.Tidied and hoovered the hall and living room, all looking quite festive and lovely.Snacks and games have been planned for tonight.Lots of cardboard has been recycled, DS3's Switsch arrived just now, he does not know, but is going to be one happy little camper when he finds out after lunch.DS1 has requested we go camping this year, in tents, to a dark place with lots of stars. Ok, challenge accepted!
