Ponderations on a Wednesday lunchtime

Will I be paid on Friday?

How much will I be paid on Friday?

Where is my credit card bill? used to arrive on 18th, last 4 months  22nd- 28th. Where does it go?

I know things have been sent, but none have arrived - where are they??

This afternoon will be spent supervising DS3 making gingerbread cookies/men for DS2 (the toad) to go in the musical biscuit tin he found in a c/s.

We are all sneaking round the house as DH is in meetings, he is off the tablets, making art, and seems much brighter.

Happy Birthday to DS4! What cake did he choose?

In the end, he asked for any cake with fondant icing, after I had already bought him the spekuloos cheesecake he had asked for.  So he got the cheesecake and loved it, after the takeaway he requested.

The keyboard and drawing tablet went down very well, he went and got his jab like a big boy, with DS1 big boy, and when they got home there was a letter saying DS3 was now able to get a jab, so he could have gone too.  Will find the next available session and get him sorted as well before the year turns. 

Foodbank was stupidly busy, they know they will get everything you would need for C'Mas except the meat. Lots of happy clients, lots of kids will be fed properly, but lots of people look like they are planning  plenty of festive 'business meetings' though.  After those photos, they have decided they are not going to listen to him. 

Not a problem we have. The only people we are planning to get close to are Otters (hopefully).  Was surprised at the number of people who were asking if we had Lat Flow test Kits, we had them all Summer and Autumn and nobody wanted them, this week everyone wants them and we don't have any. So directed them to the NHS app and the local chemist.  They are having trouble sourcing any too.

So, last birthday of the year sorted.  Two days til C'Mas, giving blood in the morning,sorting car insurances after that,  and wrapping presents in the afternoon.

Nooooooooo! Im not surprised but i am disappointed for you. They have been so awful with their payments!!

oh no. What dreadful payers they are. No point in chasing it up for the next few days. xx

That's utterly shocking about the pay. What if you (like some) were utterly reliant on that coming through.

I have just spent the last 3 hours wrapping presents, DH came and suffered through the first 2 hours with me (love that man!!) so it is all wrapped up and finished just before 6pm, rather than my usual half past eleven grump-fest.  He is baking potatoes.

DS2 present has not come.  He has been warned, and knows he will get (whatever it is) it in the next 7 days.

Credit card bill arrived (over £400) and car insurance came - cheaper than the cheapest  quote on comparison sites, and so I am sticking with it (sub £175) although I might save £18 if I went through a comparison site, but the money is never guaranteed, and I think I have only managed to get it twice because they have all quoted for my business over the years, and I still have the same car, so they know it is me, even if I change my email and wear glasses,  a moustache, and false leg.  Grrr.

Anyway, they told me again, at the blood donation centre, I have lovely veins.  So there. Something money can't buy

Merry Christmas to you and yours, all of you, whether you celebrate or not, I wish you all the best for the rest of the year, and into 2022. 

A nice day was had by all at Foxholes Towers. Even DS2 has not pulled on his toad mask, and has been lovely all day so far.   He did not get anyone a present, but was properly chuffed with his gifts, and the gingerbread men DS3 made and put in a musical biscuit tin he found in a charity shop for 50p.  DS3s is ridiculously chuffed by the gingerbread men, the icing, the house he made, and by the enormous Wellington DH made, with roasties (I did the brussels with smokey bacon(ish) pieces, the corn, the brussels tops, and the gravy).  They are all so stuffed I will get away with a cup of tea and christmas pudding and custard for supper tonight.  Maybe a mice pie and hot chocolate before bed.  Bliss

DS3 got a waffle maker, so that will be the breakfast of kings tomorrow.
