I made sure it fitted in a jiffy bag, rather than a firm box parcel- had to send it in one large a4 envelope and one jiffy bag, but it was going out on Saturday before 12 so I am hoping it will be swifter than a 'proper parcel'

Just getting through a day some days is progress.Don't be surprised if your parcel doesn't get to NI today. I sent something last Sunday (to somewhere else in UK) and it still hasn't arrived. On Thursday I had a parcel delivered that was posted first class on 14th. Post office is (understandably) struggling with volumes during this time.Judging by current cloud coverage in another part of the shire, you may need a cardy with a summer dress today.9

I sent two parcels from ni at the same time. One to reading one to Chelmsford. One arrived on Saturday and the other the following Thursday. As they were both to the offspring from the Easter bunny, they were, of necessity, identical even down to the packaging used!Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I guess sending it guaranteed next day delivery is the way to go then, and then claim back the money as a refund for it not getting there as promised. My aunt had children in Scotland where it was physically impossible with the ferries to get the goods there on time GNDD, so basically she had free postage for 25 years. I fear I come from a family of chancers and scammers.Did the volunteering, put more laundry on the line, looks like it will not rain til much later on this evening. So all the throws went in and they are happily fluttering on the line.Still doing battle with maths teacher, who claims not to have had the work ds1 has now sent him 4 times. So will sort that again and then lunch and a walk. A family walk. The kids will hate it. ha ha ha ha ha!!! State Authorised Exercise Regime.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Regarding parcels, DS1 just received the parcel I sent him 3 weeks ago. In the meantime, he has received at least two other parcels from me, but that one, which obviously was the only one that contained something relatively important, took three weeks from Cumbria to London. I think it just depends on how many people are able to work in various sorting offices. A friend of ours works at Heathrow in postal services and says there are typically only 7 out of 28+ people working currently, and because of sickness or self isolation rather than social distancing measures.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Happy May Day! Happy 22nd Wedding Anniversary to me!!! (DH forgot again - to be fair he remembered the first two, so really he should still get a pat on the head - he still thinks Xmas day is the 24th, he gets it wrong every single year!) I have a bottle of bubbles in the fridge - he declined a fizzy breakfast, it appears he has work to do, he has flowers on his desk, and I have THE MORTGAGE NUMBERS!!!So, (a needle pulling threaaaad!), we paid £136.82 in interest this month, I have had a sneaky overpayment of £76.28 to bring the balance down to a very tidy £92,500. I shunted £400 off to savings - the renovations account is currently sitting at £12k (in my head I am making an o/p and bringing mortgage down to £80k) and I have budgeted for the £300 going off to the kids regular savings accounts this month (mostly child benefit payment), and I am still within budget - as I jolly well should be on the first of the month! All bills have gone out.I did the food shop after volunteering last night. It took ages. I got soaked standing in queues, but got food, lots of lovely veg, and the fruit bowl looks amazing! £105 spent, but lots of that was tins of beans and chickpeas and pulses and pasta as the pantry was looking quite sad. Also bath bubbles and bleach and razors and all that jazz.Credit card balance is £0I have one lb left to lose before I get into the 'overweight' category rather than the 'obese' category - so hopefully that will happen before Monday. I am in the 12 stone bracket, and have been for 3 whole days now. Not that I am checking (I am checking) but I have buggr all else to do than weigh myself every morning. More as a curiosity than anything. So 12.12 is my next target, and then 12.10 means I only have 2 stone left to lose to become what is held to be 'normal', although I wish it would ask your cup size for these 'normal' weight categories, as I am certain my FF cups weigh more than a AA cup holder. Anyway, we shall deal with that when we get there. 19lbs lost so far. Keep on plodding. 20 is a much nicer tidy number.New Month, new motivation, new goals.Keep on volunteering - it provides a framework to my week and is a mixture of stair climbing and weight lifting.Keep on losing weight. 1lb =12.12 (no longer obese) 2lbs=12.11 (one and a half stone loss) 3lbs=12.10 (only 2 stone to go!) and if I lose 5lb this month then I will be 12.7 which is half way through the 12's! So, lots of small achievable goals there. 12.4 will be a 2 stone loss. But will require a 2lb a week loss and I do not think that is easily achievable while not exercising - unless I stop eating all together and I have no intention of stopping eating. I love eating! No fear of me giving up food. Just lots and lots and lots more raw salads and 0 sweeties and snacking. DH is 3lbs lighter than me and is a very happy sausage. He has lost his little belly and you can see the bottom of his ribs, he is a bit more defined, and we are very aware that we are doing this with practically no exercise at the moment. Stair climbing and walking to the kettle is about the limit of what we are doing daily. This will increase very soon. This is week 7 of lockdown. We are all doing brilliantly. Yay us!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Oh, and it took 5 days for 1st class mail to get to NI, both the A4 letter and the Jiffy bag.The mysterious affair of the step-gran's hearing aid has been solved. She was given the wrong sized batteries by the woman from B00ts last time, so they wobbled about and were intermittently working, then when she sent them away, it was not picked up on, and they just cleaned them and sent them back, they worked for 1 day then stopped, so with a lot of backwards and forwards with her carer (who has been brilliant), they managed to figure out that it was the batteries, and now after all that faffing and 3 weeks of shouting down the phone, she can hear again. Drama over.
