Again, sammi, you need to be careful using this word, as it COULD be offensive to some.
The 'Stalwarts' were a part of the United States Republican Army in the 19th century.
As an adjective 'stalwart' is also another word for 'strong'.

    Thanks :D

I just wanted to make clear that I dont have any warts or personal diseases :o:p

I think you'll find 'Stalwart' is a contraction of the phrase 'stale wart' - a highly unpleasant and offensive term :p

Poor old sammiboo - looks like a no-win situation. :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • I went from 3 to 4 stars this morning.........not happy that I'm now a supergeek :(

And as someone who has been on anti-depressants, I saw nothing wrong with mad or bonkers, it didn't even cross my mind.

This is Madness!!!!! oops, sorry, this is Crazy!!! oops again.

I can't believe that all the names have been changed from usual everyday words (mad cow disease?, i've had a crazy day!, I'm bonkers about him etc etc) as someone has said it is offensive!!

I think on the DFW board in particular we have a very high concentration of current sufferers or previous sufferers of depression and mental illness, myself included, and i think if there was any offence to be had someone would have picked up on it by now. As a sufferer (happily occasional now) of depression i certainly do not find offence in the words crazy, mad, bonkers etc and see the words for their wider meaning.

    Rant over.

Isnt a geek someone who wears an anorak, and sits in train stations with a notepad:confused:

Didn't they complain about being labelled 'Geeks' and get it changed to 'Trainspotters'?

I've just read this thread & I agree with all the sentiments.....

    New Money Saver
    Money Saver
    Star Money Saver
    Mega Money Saver
    Superstar Money Saver
    Champion Money Saver etc etc

That links in with the whole concept of the site, too.

    Great I am a wart - how depressing :(

*considers going on a posting rampage to get another star up* :p

The forum I am admin on, we use the Vbulletin software and we allow our users to put thier own title under their username (within reason of course :p)

It is easy to do, maybe this would be a better idea. Then if people want to be warts or geeks then they can choose to be :D
