I really don't want to offend anyone at all, and I have and still do suffer from depression but I think its political correctness gone raving bonkers mad to be honest.

I could not agree more, sammy. There are MANY definitions for 'mad' of which the mental state of someone is just one. Of course some people may object to words like 'mad' and 'bonkers' but, surely, this site is not about appeasing the PC brigade - it's about 'fighting back' at a 'system' which already tries to take advantage of the consumer.

To me, at least, the word 'GEEK' implies some mild mannered guy who is 'scared of his own shadow' - now I would find that offensive.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I agree it's a bit PC gone mad (for want of a better, non-offensive word :rolleyes2), but it seems in an effort to not offend one group of people, another has been upset. You can't please all of the people all of the time i suppose.

I liked mrsspendalots suggestions of fabulously frugal moneysaver and super savvy moneysaver over on pap's thread on the site feedback board though. Much more dynamic and surely not offensive to anyone.

Much better - unless somebody has heard of a tenth generation descendant of the milk delivery person to a remote hill tribe in Outer Bogistan, called 'frugal' - we wouldn't want to offend him, would we?
