But if they were then changed to 'mad' etc. because of a suggestion by ONE user AND no-one else liked it AND it was because it was assumed that every in the same situation would feel the same (without actually asking them), then I'd be objecting

Well this will top it all. I went to a golf club today, they had a free day trial. they cater for the disabled so I gave it a bash, I was not asked my handicap was, but what was my "hinderance" as the pro's are not allowed to explain "handicap" to those with stick, crutches or in wheelchairs.
I told the girl registering interest that my "hinderance was this dumb political correctness that plagues the entire country. A golf handicap has been handicap since year dot, so why change it? If it offended us (the disabled players) we wouldn't be bl00dy playing would we?"
