OP, next time your mum has trouble with her router or computer, tell her to call a local reputable computer technician-not Currys.
And as for printers, cheap inkjets are rarely repairable or even worth trying to repair--it's cheaper just to replace them.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I too have been scammed by this company.Initially this came about, after transactions taken from my account to Adobe uk.I have never subscribed to them, or given bank details!
I cancelled bank cards, and rang Adobe to enquire about money withdrawn without my permission.I was somehow diverted to someone,I thought was Adobe, but it was a technician, and my computer has more than likely viruses and trojans, and I have been hacked! He said my computer need cleaning up and internet security, that protects more than the one I had installed. As requested by banks, when fraud is suspected. He got me to type in a word and he gained access to my computer, he proceeded to do this and said the price £199+ vat and IS for 3 years £99, of course I was scared and had to agree, what else could I do.I actually thought this genuine and speaking to adobe!! After contacting adobe, they emphatically deny that they use these people, never have never will. I am now frightened to use my computer, because I think they know everything I am doing.Banks not helpful ,had to do detective work myself, they say they are looking into it further. regards Help please if you know more

So let me get this straight :
You claim that money was taken from your bank account by Adobe PRIOR to phoning this helpline - which somehow you managed to contact when you were trying to get through to Adobe ?
    Sounds implausible ....
If this is true - you first need to get your phone supplier to explain why a phone call to Adobe was transferred to someone else !
What makes you think that was linked to Currys or Infotech ?

Put the phone down? You should have started a new topic rather than interrupt this one. You need to do a system restore to date before the scam. Best to do this with your router OFF for obvious reasons.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

And run an antivirus scan and Malwarebytes through it as well !!
