It's really up to your Mum, but I'd be requesting copies of any data held about me ... including any audio, video or CCTV recordings. (Subject Access Request).
Like Andy said ... unless this is nipped in the bud they'll keep on doing it and fleecing people. It's no different really to Private Parking Scumpanies who delight in targeting the older generation ... every invoice paid funds their targeting of yet more victims. (I've seen your post in the Parking board).0 -

Reading this thread with interest (for various reasons).
Did the legal bod say why they'd called or who passed the details on to them?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
So ...
I have just called these shysters and said " I was passed your number from a knowhow guy at Currys, i have a printer problem, can you help ?"
He said "yes sir im sure we can" .
I said " So before we continue, can i just be clear , are you part of the currys group or are you a seperate entity"
He said " We have a contract with Currys, when they cant fix things then they pass out our details"
At that point, i told him the call was being recorded (it wasnt) and asked him again to confirm that he said they have a contract with Currys.
He flapped about and backtracked saying that although we have no official contract, their employees send jobs to us"
I asked him if it was one particular branch or employee that they had this agreement with and he said it was the wider currys group".
I now intend to write to the CEO of Currys with the intention of getting them to cease and desist using currys name in this way.
I told "alex" to tell his manager that i am reporting them to trading standards
I want some 5h1t to hit the fan0 -
Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Interesting! I might get back to legal guy.
He called me because I'd emailed the CEO..who ignored me till I started going on at them on Twitter (Cleverly they use "KNOWHOW" to respond to complaints to Currys or PCworld, as that takes the trail away from the main brands)
Then he called.
RUMRAT - let me know!0 -
I HATE stuff like this.
Doing nothing just lets the scumbag carry on hitting unsuspecting old dears etc.
Id be making a massive fuss - CCTV out and everything
Major complaint to Currys, telling them you are contacting Watchdog, local press etc. to warn others not to get conned by a company some (misguided perhaps?) believe to be trustworthy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. They've denied that this is a company endorsed helpline, and the branch manager has denied his guys wrote it on the slip! SO we'll see, I have the leaflet they wrote it on.Just had a call from a very legal and dour man from Currys.
He said "What if I told you that the CCTV shows nothing but our man handing her the leaflet and no writing on it"
You have the leaflet THEY wrote it on but then the CCTV shows the leaflet with nothing on. Something not right here.0 -

If it was just a spotty young employee doing his own thing, they would not be that concerned - they'd just say he's been disciplined and we'll replace him with another equally clueless spotty youth.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
