Heading for a NSD today hopefully. Not counting bus fares on Oyster card because it was paid in advance and considered not a NSD when I bought it. Same as not considering gas, electricity, water and other bills on NSDs even if technically we are spending all the time by using facilities which cost money.
Good low cost meals today as lots of veg picked at the allotment and dinner will be soup leftover from yesterday, too.
So, all in all a nice and frugal day, and I get paid for my babysitting too! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Franalamadingdong I portion a loaf up into bags - 4 slices per bag - put the bags back in the bread wrapper and freeze - then I just take them out of the freezer as needed - instead of making wild bird food (that's where my stale bread goes lol).
It also means I can mix it up and have white/brown/grainy on demand lol. Also great for crumpets or muffins/bagels - I slice them and bag them up so I can have them when the fancy strikes. You often see bread and toasty stuff on YS/reduced - so it can be worth having a bread drawer in your freezer!2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!

Thanks slowly, my freezer has been so rammed for so long, I'm finally making room. Annoyingly my son will power through plastic bread, which tends to keep anyway, but the nice stuff from the village store goes stale so quickly, which means no one wants it. I only get it if we run out of the usual stuff. I'll make sure to divvy up in the future, especially as I'm starting to have room in there!0

I'm just weaning myself off freezer-ramming and store cupboard-hoarding. I emptied my freezer last month, defrosted and wiped-down everything and only put back what was (realistically) was going to be eaten. Anything that had been lingering got chucked. I keep telling myself I am not a dustbin (so I don't have to keep 'stuff' I really don't fancy eating lol).
I've done the same with my fridge and zombie apocalypse cupboard.2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!
