Hanb I'd confiscate that gin! Bad OH!
Lol slowly that's me too! 😂
Went to Mr T and I saw something on offer and didn't buy it because I didn't need it! This is big for me. Spent £20.37 on grocery and household for next week to save going after work. My DS is actually good when supermarket shopping so it's not an issue to bring him. £43.97/200 for the month so far.0 -
I'm now at £7.60 for the month so far, bought a couple of 20p bargains the other day which will last for months and were worth buying.
Today I'm going to declutter my freezer as I've just realised how old my frozen veg is! Oops! Not sure it matters really but feel I should buy some fresher stuff.
So will pop to the local store later to get milk, maybe bread if needed, along with some fruit and veg. Will try to be strict with myself and only buy what I need and fruit/veg that will keep well and last.0 -
So after OH being a dipstick yesterday and my spend of £18.40 on the weekly shop today, we're now over half way through our budget for the whole month on day 5!
£70.14/£140 although OH might learn his lesson when I make him eat things he doesn't like at the end of the month0 -
Heading for a third consecutive NSD, feeling happy!
Was going to buy a bottle of wine to take to our vicar's after fireworks party, but then discovered that we still had a bottle of Prosecco in the wine rack. Now it's sitting outside in the garden as it's colder than the fridge, and we will take that to the party.
Very frugal eating too, breakfast was porridge with nuts, lunch bean and pasta soup with veg, some gf bread and marmite (me) and rye bread and jam (DH) and a piece of fruit each. Dinner was stir fry with rice and veg from allotment, plus beans from allotment, pudding chopped apple and oatcakes with tahini and (gifted) quince jam. All stuff I had in cupboard and fridge.
Tomorrow I will shop at the farmers market as I want to get some pears and greens.
Have a good bonfire evening! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
£14.57 gone today on frozen veg, rice and noodles; it was so very nearly an NSD until I realised, halfway through cooking the supper, that we were out of frozen veg, which I was relying on! So, a quick hurtle up to the nearby supermarket (W8rose is unfortunately 200 yards away) and a re-stock of rice & noodles whilst there. Then back in time to finish the cooking! But I shouldn't need to buy any more of either until next month.
I also made a kind of pease pudding in the slow-cooker overnight; I had some ham stock in the fridge that needed using up, plenty of onions & dried peas, but thought I'd add a tin of tomatos & some spices to see if I could make something closer to baked beans. I'm pleased to report that people went back for seconds... that worked, then!Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Have been ill and whilst I was in a comatose like sleep this morning OH went to the shops and bought lemsip, toothpicks, toothbrush, throat sweets, paracetamol and also Chicken Dippers, Chicken Tikka and steak pies.
This meant I woke up to find spends of 18.12 had occurred, which when added to my remembering I had bought white vinegar and wool wash means we are now 113.39/112. So slightly over, but we still have 19 days to go!
TBH as long as I end up under the standard 168 budget I will be happy but I did think we should be able to shave a third off the budget given how much food we already had in.

I normally shop on Thursdays but as only need fruit and veg, and had enough to last a couple of days, decided to wait until tomorrow and have a look at the YS in Asbo first. Might be lucky, might not but worth a go I think.Slimming World at target0

Had a few spends, came to about £10, sweet potatoes, houmous, swiss glace ice cream (dairy free), which is to die for, oak milk, so beautiful in coffee, but really expensive (not buying it anymore, gonna make my own) and oranges, lemons, ginger etc. Bought alcohol - came to about £20 something - not bothered - I treated myself - got tempted by an orange liquor brandy in M&S and bought some whisky for hot toddys - been flu(ish) for about 5 days now, not been ill for about 30 years, so feeling sorry for myself, but nearly used up the months budget. I will raise a glass when Arsenal beat Tottenham in the footie tomorrow - lol. Have a lovely w/e everyone. xx0
