Yay. NSD today. Actually came out £2.99 up after returning an item to Lidl and NOT walking out with anything!

Will total up and post later. I'm over, but the freezer is full and I'm batch cooking to clear the fridge before Saturday. NO shopping other than basics in November. Yeah right!

  • Managed to come in under budget (just) - £58.91/£60. It was a bit of a struggle, so I will be upping the budget for November.

    Evening all

Well done all those coming in under or around their targets :T Hope doing the challenge is helping everyone see where they can make savings :D

I have to 'fess up to coming in over budget at 210.46/200 - so I will be starting November with a £10.46 spend and will have to try to make it back :D Did manage 20 grocery NSDs though ;)

Hope you all have a great Tuesday and 'see' you all over in November

  • please may i join in. I used to do the grocery challenge a few years back, but since then i have lost my way.

My budget will cover all food and drink consumed in the house, otc medication, toiletries, cleaning materials and most snacks and drinks consumed away from home.
My month will run from 1st to 28th october, my budget that i'm hoping to not go over is £280 so far i have spent £58.78.
so far this month i have receipts for £125.42 plus i have lost a receipt, as i paid by credit card and i know when and where i shopped i will be able to find out the cost, hope it is not too much, i remember it contained lots of f & v :o

Missing receipt found and added to my envelope.

£208.39/280 I have surprised myself and come under budget :j I am going to put the remaining money aside and use to pay the wholesalers which we order from a few times a year. Money in the wholesaler purse £71.61.

Off now to join November's challenge and see if I can continue to keep a track of our grocery spends.

  • Just over £307.36. The big increase was on drinks - Pepsi/Beer and non-alcoholic wine. Must bring that down. See you on Novembers thread

  • Well my first month back here was a complete disaster. I didn't pop in enough and make myself accountable or to look at everyone's tips and help. So will be signing up for Nov and making a real effort to spend less and post. Will pop over to November now.
