  • I'm afraid we've had a major fail this month but only because we had opportunity to buy lots of yellow sticker reduced meat and fish at sainsbibs and bulk bought lots of household items for Nov, so theoretically we should save the difference or more in in November! Final tally £518.06/400.

Heres to hitting target in November!
    £1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.

Spent 8.40 in Adly on Tuesday and 26.11 there today, been feeding 2 people this week. Am not going to need anything else so 124.46 for the month. Not bad for 1st attempt but was away for a week and DS was home for a week so that evens out.

  • hmm, now I'm back at work I have been really bad this month at keeping receipts , so I'm going to guess I spent about £170 this month. I had people staying twice this month but I don't think ive splurged, my ssp wouldn't let me.

£3.25 spent today, meaning I have £1.09 left of this months budget, to go 'till end of month. I don't really need anything, but it's really going to be tough for me to not spend anything. We shall see.
Lol - still have my £1.09 in tact, have had 3 NSD's but I am scraping the barrel, run out of coffee, soya milk, tomatoes. I still have an M&S voucher, which I considered spending a few months ago on food, but didn't. This would not come out of groceries as it was a present to me - birthday or Xmas I think, I only count spends from my purse. I'm was wanting to get a drink, feeling very stressed, I feel I've achieved this month on many levels, not talking grocery, so it could be a way to treat myself, without feeling I've failed my targets, though it does feel a bit like cheating. Hardly the end of the world I know - have a lovely weekend everyone.

£13.00 spent in Asda on a bottle of beer, 2 soft drinks, 3 pizzas and a big bag of tortilla chips - cheaper than a takeaway!

Now on £530.99/£500 or £106.20/week spent against a target of £100/week.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

  • Have just updated sig with final tally for month. Managed 9 NSD out of a hoped for 10, which is much better than last month's tally! And am not too gutted with my £74-odd overspend as this month's budget included dog food for the first time. Will again take the lessons learned onto next month's challenge...!

I've almost finished my first month using YNAB to log my spends. Scary. Even though I have been keeping records of grocery spends, my other spends are way out of control.
I also have a big MF order coming up next month so I don't think I'm going to be able to regain grocery ground even though we are on holiday for a week

I'll keep trying, but I'm not going to kick myself if it doesn't happen. What I really want to make sure I do is a proper freezer audit at New Year so I know where I start for the next challenge:D

I'll post final figures tomorrow although I shouldn't need anything. Baking for this week done and I need to empty the fridge before holidays on Saturday.
