Most the time it's random anyway so I'll just say something like 'because I want to' or 'not gonna share my life's supply of heartache in order to win a cake, so I think I should win because I like cake. Simple as...
'
Apologies in advance, but I'm totally stealing this!
I tend to avoid "I should win because..." competitions because I don't think I'm any more deserving to win than the next person. Just because you've had a recent tragedy, doesn't make you any more deserving than me. It's all very cringy.
Anyone now who is too "oh woe is me" or posts tons of little hearts and flowers and clovers is added to my block list. It's getting quite long....0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: OMG have they no shame!:eek::eek: But could I beat those with 'I'd sew a doggie carrier so I can carry my poor little 2 legged dog around - unfortunately she was run over by a motor bike last month and had to have her two hind legs amputated in a life saving operation!'???

Oh, my. It's getting beyond ridiculous. I can't understand what makes people post things like this. Some people must find it distressing to read some of those comments.
Is there any wonder I'm doing more Twitter comps now, 'cos I can't compete with this (I might do a daft photo at Christmas as an experiment, not decided yet) I might stand more of a chance at winning if I post a comment, do lots of love hearts (if I can work out how to do them) and post a picture that has nowt to do with the prize involved.
I know that a lot of comps end with winners 'picked at random' but surely stuff like this gives some an unfair advantage - let's be honest some of the same names pop up time and again on FB.
I don't grudge anybody a win, 'cos we all like to win prizes and that's what it's all about, but it is like there is a group of folk who want to win everything, yet don't like it when someone else does.
At what point does it all end?

That's Facebook for ya, if it wasn't for comping I would have closed my account years ago.
Just look at the hurtful disgusting comments posted under serious news stories on Metro and the like.0 -

I have seen people constantly posting images of their young children for hundreds of thousands of online strangers to gawp at with no consideration or care as to who is looking at them, simply to win prizes such as mixers, wine and other adult things and yet they always post a picture of their children. (I'm not talking about comps for childrens prizes etc or where part of the rules are to do that, although i still wouldn't choose to put pics up.) Its irresponsible and using them for your own gain. Actually sickens me. I don't think 'aww how cute'. I think fgs most of us have kids but most don't want their images sprawled all over the internet. That is my biggest bug bear.
And before the minority of moaners jump in to say 'its a free world. They can do what they want. Why do you care? ' etc I would say that we are all human beings as you say, and in saying that, it is absolutely in our make up to spot those who are lying and manipulative and bring it to the attention of people we interact with on a daily basis. We interact on this forum on a daily basis and all share a common interest. So it is natural for us to communicate with each other about things we see as immoral. We are not naming anyone. We are not threatening to put them on trial for witchcraft. We are simply pointing out that some people are less than moral for using loved ones or tragedies (if they are real at all) to make some sort of financial gain.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

that just reminded me of the weirdest one yet. I need to find it. In the comments of a comp for some prize someone actually added a picture of their baby scan. so they're posting even younger than babies now lol Foetus' are the in thing to use.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

I've seen that one too, but I can't remember the comp. I thought I was seeing things. It was one of those 'I really haven't seen that, have I?' moments
