They could have done that after walking into a lamp-post whilst playing Pokemon for all we know!:D
I never thought of that lol.
BTW, just thought on, do you think DH's neck injury due to excessive head shaking is good enough to post on FB and win a prize? I'll save it for the advents. It'll save me a couple of hours, 'cos I was thinking of taking a picture of the dog in some spiffing hat-wear and using that, but he doesn't have much patience when it comes to sitting for the camera.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.
comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j0 -
I saw a winner's post on Facebook a few days ago where the winner had written a long sob story, but the original post stated to write #win and that wasn't even contained in her comment! So maybe the sob stories win after all, even when they don't follow the competition rules :laugh:0

Aldi's latest comp was won by someone who added a photo

Would help if the companies followed their own rules and FB enforced their's re sharingWorse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -
I've started taking the time to read through more comments lately to spot the 'my dad died yesterday' 'my child is in hospital on life support' comments. I wonder how many of them are real? I can't imagine caring in the slightest about winning anything if I had a child who was critically ill!
I've only once used the sob story method, it was to win a rose named after someone. My mum died some years ago and her surname was Rose so I thought it would actually be lovely to have a rose named after her. I didn't win though! Disclaimer though, my mum was a comper and would have been happy for me to use her to win something!
My minnow actually passed on to fishy heaven today. I wonder if I can find an appropriate comp to mention it on. A holiday to Barbados would certainly go some way to helping me find solace at this difficult time.0 -
I am in absolute agreement! They drive me up the pole!0

Minnow! Classic! :rotfl:Why do mice have such small balls?
Because so few of them can dance.0 -
WOW, THANK YOU SO MUCH, AMAZING THREAD :rotfl: I hope this isn't too far down to bump, but I've resumed comping the past couple of weeks and some of these comments are hard to tune out :eek: It puts me off Facebook comps so much and makes me wonder if it does affect chances. It can be for something worth a fiver and people have the family albums out (I don't agree with randomly posting pictures of one's kids all over Facebook). I seen someone post a macro photo of their peeling skin condition on a comp recently, it was revolting and I don't think it was prize-related. I'll only leave a message if they ask or it's a brand I love.0

There's someone who's response to every facebook comp is to write 'I'm in love with... this watering can' or whatever .
It just sounds so daft lol.0 -
I saw someone in a group the other day having a melt down because someone else was using her 'entry' ie the 'omg hearts and flowers awesome' paragraph (very long and lots of emojis) she had apparently spent ages perfecting. To use on every face book page. And someone else had copied and pasted it to use. The poster got lots of sympathetic clucking and encouragement to make a new 'even better' one.
I moved on quickly....2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400
