If you want cats to drink water get a glass, fill it with water, drink a tiny bit, then put it on the floor next to you. Preferably whilst sitting on the sofa.
Within 2 mins the cat will be drinking it for you.

If you shout "No! Stop it! Please for the love of god just leave my drink alone" they find it very encouraging.

    Absolutely true.
  • My brother and I were engaging our cat by chirruping his name to him, to which he responded. Our dad came in and scoffed at this, claiming cats weren't intelligent enough to know their own names, and that he was just responding to the tone of our voices. To prove this, he chirruped a very rude word at the cat in encouraging tones. The cat slowly and deliberately turned its back on him and pointedly stared out of the window in disgust at such uncouth behaviour.

Fact: cats are cleverer than dads.

For example, the programme mentioned that cats dislike having the end of their whiskers touched, I decided to change her oblong food bowel which is now longer left to right, as appose to up and down.

Well done, your cat will no longer have irritable bowel syndrome.

Mine likes cold tea, the water bowl furthest away from the food, the taps in the bathroom, and of course, my water in a glass.

She also tries to get to the water and tomato feed when i'm watering the plants.

Cats walk like camels and giraffes....using both legs on same side at same time........todays bit of useless info...
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

I have bought raw cat food for mine - they wolfed down the chicken one but were not so keen on the duck. It's very expensive though!

Cats generally don't need extra water if they are on a predominantly wet food diet. Cats on a predominantly dry food diet will need extra water.

The trouble is, dry food is not a natural diet for cats, it's more of a convenience for owners:rotfl:
