Get a Coutts card then you're laughing!! ;)

Many years ago I was offered a job with Coutts. It was the days when if you worked for a bank, you had to bank with them.

The woman pushed this as a great aspect of the job, having a Coutts bank account. In fact, the majority of Coutts accounts were staff accounts at that time.

That's who my stepmum banks with. I believe they are connected to NatWest in some way as she banked wi NatWest and Coutts asked her if she would like an account with them.

To be honest if you don't get a free pen when you join I wouldn't be interested!

NatWest owned Coutts, RBS then owned them after they bought NatWest

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I'm steering clear of your attempt to compare bank-issued AmEx credit cards and AmEx-issued chargecards.

Your mention of the T24 Black prepaid card led me to check. The included Priority Pass membership is the basic $99 annual fee membership with no visits included. Lounge visits cost $27 p.p. By contrast, the AmEx platinum CHARGEcard includes unlimited PP membership for the cardholder who can take a guest. A supplementary AmEx chargecard holder also gets a PP unlimited membership. For families/friends/business colleagues, this could mean up to 4 lounge visits per account, with no additional charge per visit.

    So, no comparison. ;)

The T24 card is aimed at a different clientele. For me, a Visa prepaid card with a $150 joining fee doesn't begin to look interesting, even with a 'free' $99 PP membership.

I don't understand why you are disagreeing with my post. I simply said that a priority pass is available with T24 prepaid card and it is. Looks to me like you are reading into my post rather a lot that isn't in it.

If you are going to debate with me the least you can do is get it right!

Lastly, little known is that the travel benefits including the Priority Pass for which the Amex Platinum is famous is available with a pre-paid VISA card - T24 Black.

No to take side, but your post above imply that the T24 card will offer the same Priority Pass membership for which Amex Platinum is famous for, and both Roger 1 and I have explained that it is no where the same thing.

T24 offer you basic PP membership which does not include any lounge visit, only the opportunity to buy entry at a discounted fix price.

Amex Platinum Chargecard offer the equivalent of full PP membership with unlimited entries and the opportunity to both get a guest in as well and to double this benefit by adding a second cardholder, basically giving 4 unlimited entries per year...

Ok I'll put it another way: Where did I say that T24 offers Priority Pass under the same terms as Amex? Quote and link please.

If playing this game rock your boat, fine but I already quoted you stating that the travel benefits including PP Amex Platinum was known for was available with the T24 card. We can put a voting button and see how many people read it in the way you are now backing off of.

    So again:

so the travel benefit of unlimited PP entries for 4 is not even similar to what the T24 benefit offer

In a lot of countries, like Canada, you can tell how wealthy someone is by their credit cards as lot of premium cards require a minimum income of 75 to 200k (In Canadian Dollars) but most the premium cards in the UK have fairly low income requirements (even Amex removed their minimum income of 20k).

    ROFL Oh ok

A shame there isn't a nitpicker of the month award because you would win it hands down. I'm out of this silly debate with you.
