    Good evening ladies,

What. A. Day. DH decided he was finally going to do all the house jobs that have been on his list for yonks. Cue 3 trips to Screwfix, gawd knows how much spent on stuff we ''need" (I was aiming for a frugal August... Yea right), one old rotten shed dismantled, a bee hive under the shed we had no idea about disturbed, loads of bees really hacked off with life and kiddies smuggled indoors to mitigate stinging risk.

Local bee keeper coming tomorrow to assist, following which I'll take shed remnants to the tip.

Collapsed on the flylady sofa now with vino

See you in the morning xxx

So much for powering through all the scanning/shredding of past papers. :( I ended up spending about 3 hours (including dog interruptions and going to see a customer) trying to work out how much money is supposed to be in my savings account. I moved a lump sum to my main bank account to cover back to school expenses etc but I've spent a lot less than usual (DD has said she doesn't want all new as she's only wearing it until April so it'd be a waste of money! :money:) and trying to work out what should be in there from my cash tin savings as well as my budgeted savings (somewhere between £3-500 took me a while. I've given in and opted for waiting until the end of the month and then I'll shift what my file says should be the balance over on the 5th when all the bills that are covered by it are paid etc.

I've cleared paper piles from on/around my desk area and moved some computer files. Now I've just got a text from DD to say she's almost home so time to put Zack in the kitchen and wait for the chaos to start
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Morning all :)

Been up since 6 with DD, I suspect this may change when she starts school and I'll be coaxing her out of bed every morning!

I have had a quick tidy up outside, well, as best I can given that the shed contents and the bee infested underside of the shed are all over the place. I think I'm giving your Steptoes Yard a run for its money Dizzy :p

Today DH wants to finish the WM relocation project, and also collect the littlies trampoline from the inlaws. Oh and get the bees sorted, get the rest of the shed shifted and hopefully collapse with a film no later than 2pm.

There is a big pile of biscuits, Bucks fizz and hugs here so help yourselves xx

    Have wonderful Sundays all xx

Morning all. MIA yesterday as I had to clean the house ready for MIL arriving, which was an hour and a half earlier than I expected, so the front door didn't get a wipe down and I cut the grass out back after she'd arrived so it was pleasant to sit out there.

DH is wondering what the smell is in the house - it's called clean, bleach etc.

Anyway, no cooking necessary yesterday as we went for a meal at a posh restaurant, but it was spoiled by a group of three sets of parents all with 9 month old babies. Not the babies fault obviously but they didn't want to be there and the parents amused them by bashing their car keys on the table. Put DH into right grumpy old man mood and ruined the evening.

But today is another day. I have just eaten at my alloted time (currently on anti-B's for blood poisoning), will soon have a shower and we're off to York for the day with MIL. DD is looking after LittleyDog.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

I think I'm giving your Steptoes Yard a run for its money Dizzy :pI'll have you know I did two tip runs this week and we had a huge bonfire last light, so we can now get into the back gate :j

    Good luck with the bees!

The bees have been successfully relocated, hurrah! DH has gone to collect the trampoline, then is heading back to Screwfix

He has assured me his plans involve a lovely wine rack, so I'm staying on-side for now

Right, time for the third cuppa x

    Hi All,

I am in this week, but trying to do a week's flying in one day:eek:

So far the kitchen is blitzed including all sides, swept and mopped
All washing is done and on the line

Bathrooms have been sprayed with cleaner, usually I just use vinegar but I had run out and local shop did not have any. I must admit I prefer the smell of cleaner to vinegar.

Lounge is mostly okay, just needs a dust and Hoover

Hall, stairs and landing need a Hoover

Bedroom needs a Hoover and clean stuff putting away

Airing cupboard needs a major sort out, but once done will take some old towels and bedding to the local animal sanctuary

I have been checking in most days, but work is completely manic so only the minimum has been done at home.

Valli, I am very certain your sister appreciates everything you have done, but rather you than me climbing through windows

LW, could it be that Mr LW needs something more to keep him occupied, not that I have any suggestions. I just remember my dad going stir crazy when he retired, but then he started working on the door at a local club. It gave him some extra pennies and a social life that was paid for.

CY, I hope you are currently free of any extra bugs and enjoyed the wedding

Bossy, your kitchen is beautiful. I am currently going through kitchen envy, but we can't afford to do it at the moment so will have to wait and save hard. We did have half of the money but hubbies company stopped use of van for personal stuff so had to buy a second vehicle.

    ATB, my condolences

Iona, I hope the foot recovery is going well

Natty, sorry to hear about your Jet, but I am sure he is playing well at Rainbow Bridge

Hello to all the newbies, returners and anyone I have missed.

    All the best

    Honey bear How is Kelpie?

Thank you for asking. He's very happy, super-friendly to everyone and utterly adorable. Sadly, he's also ruptured both his cruciate ligaments so £££ decluttered at the vets (thank goodness for pet insurance even if it seems eye-wateringly expensive at the time) and much soul-searching has taken place about the best way forward for him. To cut a long story short I'm sleeping on the sitting room floor now, next to where his bed now is and he's settled into his new regime. He's not keen on hydrotherapy yet, but we'll get there according to Tracey who runs the facility.

Meeting and Greeting, bouncing with happiness is what Kelpie does and who he is; if I managed to stop him he wouldn't feel any kind of happiness (try not smiling when you're happy - instant downer) and he might heal eventually but he'd have spent the whole time thinking I was angry with him. Ditto surgery - putting him in a crate for a couple of weeks afterwards would defeat him completely, never mind the lack of walks and all of the risks that surgery carries. In the case where someone's had a dog from puppyhood and the dog trusts them I could envisage the follow up to surgery being tremendously difficult, but do-able and worth it long term.

With this particular 10 year old arthritic rescue dog I've only had for a year and for which any change in routine itself feels like a terrifying catastrophe, it's been a very tough choice but what they call 'conservative management' is the only wary forward, I think. He seems just as happy as before, and in many ways rather calmer. I'm knackering my back lifting him in and out of the car, but we've come up with some ways to mitigate that. We've got fingers and everything else crossed that he doesn't overdo it and we can keep him going for a good while yet.

I bet you're sorry you asked now!

Yes, I do. When she told me I sobbed...then asked how I could help. It knocked me for six, though.

All the stuff we sorted to throw/ charity shop is here, so a burden lifted from her.

I am helping at a fundraiser tomorrow, quality stuff is going there.

(((Hugs))) She's a lucky, lucky lady to have a sister like you and we're (Flyladies, that is) lucky to have you as friend. *mwah*

I have found that I work or relax better in a tidy room ....

In my dim and distant past I also discovered that, but 23 years ago I bought this house, met OH who also has a ton of carp inherited from his parents and discovered that the joys of a tidy place are no longer part of my life. What I haven't been able to train myself to do is stop thinking, 'I must ...' when it's crystal clear I just can't do everything that I think needs doing - the curse of being a lazy perfectionist, basically.

The hotspot that is the sundeck was finally trellised yesterday after a three year wait and a not-so-small tanty. I decluttered OH to the station this morning for his annual Edinburgh Fesitval indulgence so there is a bit of trashing of stuff that's going to go in his absence *snigger* and then that's another area straight-ish. At long last.

WM twirling now that it's finally stopped raining, bathroom s/and/s'ed. Bins later.
    Better is good enough.
